What the hell is going on with suggested posts @staff?? I opened tumblr today to find EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. is radfem transphobic garbage.
I'm used to being recommended shit I don't want, but it's usually in a "the algorithm's an idiot" kind of way. I've made a point of blocking and reporting this stuff. IF I'M STILL SEEING THIS THEN YOUR ALGORITHM IS DOING THE OPPOSITE OF ITS SUPPOSED FUNCTION.
And given the state of the tumblr CEO's stupid meltdown, it feels disturbingly intentional. I've weathered a lot of "end of days" changes on Tumblr, but this is the first time I've genuinely considered abandoning ship.
Curating the content you see is a fundamental requirement for social media platforms. If @staff can't get this issue under control then frankly there's nothing usable left for anyone except the hatemongers.
If your dashboard is full of recommended posts instead of posts by people you're following, go to Settings->Dashboard->Preferences and turn "Best stuff first" and "Based on your likes!" off.
Also:
If you have Xkit, get the No Recommended extension.
If you're a new user (signed up after May 8th, 2023), make sure to set your dashboard to "Following."

Anybody knows how to turn off tumblr's new recommended posts? I systematically get one on top of my dash that I can't get rid off, and a few others 'based on your likes' that pop up... It's insufferable.
Oh hey mutuals I was trying to catch up on your posts because it's been a while since I've been on here. After seeing just a few things which were recently made by you, this hell app decided to serve me 40 posts in a row which were recommended for me but which were not from people I follow. I dismissed every single one as "not for me" and it basically broke the app at that point. So apparently I can't catch up on the stuff from last week and prior that you all posted.
