Shocking change in record of rights
You all will be surprised to know that Famous Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan, Mathura which was originally in the name of Mandir Banke Bihari Ji Maharaj as is apparent from the record of rights of 1375-1377F, changed to graveyard in the year 2004. And a Writ Petition is pending before Allahabad High Court to set the record straight.
I am reminded of the song, 'it happens only in India...........................'
Banke Bihari Temple is dedicated to Banke Bihari who is believed to be the combined form of Radha and Krishna. Banke Bihari Ji was originally worshipped at Nidhivan, Vrindavan. Later, when Banke Bihari temple was constructed around 1864, the icon of Banke Bihari was moved to new temple. The idol was manifested by Vrindavan musician and saint Swami Haridas. Swami Haridas originally worshipped this murti under the name of Kunj Bihari which means the one who enjoys in the groves or Kunj of Vrindavan.
