Writer's Choice | Chilly Flame's M Picks
I will be honest here, I haven't read a single fic Chilly Flame wrote until I saw the post for This Great Distance. And I read it when I saw Fictorium (Lola) beta'ed the piece.
I know, I know. But you have to understand too, with all the fics posted, it kinda takes you some time to get caught up in all of them.
Clearly I was missing out because her fics are outstanding. (Really glad that I know that now.)
Both obsessivelyaddictive and I follow her updates religiously so it just follows that we ask her what her top picks are and as with SQ writers, she was really gracious to send this back to us.

These stories are almost uniformly about more than just the hot stuff; I love a good smutty one-shot but I also very much enjoy little sparks of heat in a beautifully written universe. I also realized as I compiled this list that lots of other M stories I’ve enjoyed in the Once universe are of other pairings, so when there’s a request for those, I’ve got some ready. :D
Where the Flashing Swords Gleam, fictorium Are you kidding? Have you read this? Unbelievable. One of the hottest things to exist in the universe. The Debt, scribesandscrolls This story is not non-stop sexytimes, but I knew when I read Emma and Regina’s first explosive kiss in the tunnel that it was going to be incredible. This is a big fave amongst the SQ Nation, and with good reason. Break, her bespoke curse I love Her Bespoke Curse’s work and this one is no exception. This story has particularly great imagery and gets bonus points for toys. Fragments, heartsways I had to go there even though the whole world loves this story. It helped me acclimate to the rich Swan Queen universe very quickly, and the love scenes have deep resonance. Love of the Loveless, icicleair Part 2 of this story has a particularly vivid, if brief, love scene. It stuck in my mind nicely—Regina with her bra hanging off one arm and smudged make up sealed the deal. Black Lace, standbackufools One of the earlier Swan Queen stories I read; it was unfinished for a long time but I went for it anyway. The first chapter remains my favorite although it was all enjoyable and is now complete. Routine, captainly This story isn’t finished yet, but the first chapter is super foxy. I look forward to seeing how it shakes out! Sympathize with the Darkness, exquisiteliltart This one stuck in my mind after I first read it—Regina tied to a wine rack that could conceivably crash down on her, practically in public, is just too good. Thank You, impertinence Hate sex, pure and simple. It also includes the line, “I don’t have sex in entryways,” which amused me, especially because given the right circumstances, Regina totally would. Also, hnng. Like Chewing on Pearls, fictorium A bonus entry from Lola, since it features Regina in thigh-highs and not much else as she gets pushed around by Emma. You’re welcome.
