You Know What’s Wonderful?
My autistic ass sucks at making my message completely understood most of the time, specially when I’m giving my opinion on something or talking about feelings, execpt when I’m teaching something that I know A LOT about: standing in front of a classroom, ministring a subject that I know everything about; then I’m the best on being understood. I’m a teacher (English) and almost all of my pupils tell me that, didactic wise, I’m the best teacher they’ve ever had. When I’m presenting seminars on History, Geography, Philosofy and/or Sociology I give a literal class, my teachers often say I’m the only student who’s able to actually teach the class something while doing so, so don’t come at me and say that I’m never going to succeed in life (read that as “be a good actress) because I’m autistic because sweetie, eveyone was born to shine bright in something and autistic =/= literally the worst public speaker ever!
Bullying
Today, for the first time in many, many years, I was mocked for being autistic. I was going to the toilet during luch, and a girl said something out loud as as was passing and I covered my ears and ALL of the girls around me started covering their ears and laughing and one of them even said “have you seen that girl covering her ears? Looks like a retarded!” Happy autistic accptnce month!
