Haii, do you have any recomendations of where i can read dream of the red chamber? i'm from a country that has no translation and im not sure what is the most up to date translation or what is the best LIKE.. the one i got has 50 chapters and i feel it may have butchered a lot ??!! FEEL FREE TO IGNORE THIS QUESTION. I JUST REALLY WANT TO GET INTO THE BOOK ( so far ive read around 9/10 chapters ) and IDK if it may interfere on the experience ;w;

Dream of the Red Chamber Hawkes TL (And Companion Pieces) - Google Drive
The TL you want to read (for english speaking fans, at least) is the Hawkes tl! This book is agony to translate and also really big and Hawkes is generally considered the best way to read it in english. It’s less literal than an earlier translation, but works to keep rhymes in the poetry and translate stuff that might not make sense to an english speaking reader.
A copy with 50 chapters seems like an abridged copy which. i have no idea how they are but this book seems NIGHTMARISH to abridge lmao
