Me: Hey, great news, Red Hook pool is open at the weekends now.
Lola: Is that the one that's like a prison?
Me: Yes
Lola: I'm not going there. I don't care how hot it is.
After memories of last years terrible adventure at Red Hook, the experience has scarred Lola for life. Amazing that even in 90 degree heat, a 6 year old doesn't want to return to this giant pool to cool off. Last year, we wrestled with the entry guards, got reprimanded for carrying the towels incorrectly, scolded for splashing, forbidden to carry Lola on my back, got body searched and whistled at countless times for breaking another rule. I can see she may have a point. (A point to note: Red Hook pool does not open weekdays until 28 June. Gadzooks. Unbelievable. On a good note, it is the biggest pool I ever did see, and reasonably clean)
