So, the plan was to keep the isopods a secret from the kids for a week.
But then the 4-year-old had a hard time at the dentist today, and we went to the reptile store as a consolation afterwards. And he got to see a lot of awesome snakes, frogs, lizards, and tortoises.
And they had isopods there. And everything in that store is a bit more expensive than it is online, but compared to the cost of actually shipping isopods it was a bargain.
So anyway, I got another 10-pack of Orange Power isopods and another kind I'm really excited about. Red Koi! Still Porcellionides pruinosus, so they should be able to breed with the Powder Orange and Oreo Crumble ones.
And P got to help me put them in their bins. He was actually quite gentle and got to hold a couple of them as we transferred them into their new homes. I have a small terrarium coming in next week, and he's going to get to pick his own Porcellionides pruinosus to put in there, or a mix of all 3 if he wants them.
