18. First time admitting to being wrong. Gojo. I don't care who else is in the picture, I just want Gojo...lol Drabble please. :)
Characters: Gojo, Shoko, Geto (Sashisu)
“Gojo,” Shoko groaned, waving her cigarette in a wide circle, “come on, admit it.”
Satoru blinked at her and splayed his fingers against his puffed chest. “Admit? What is there to admit?”
Suguru tapped his index finger loudly on his desk and rolled his eyes. “You know him, Shoko. He never will. He thinks he’s better than everyone else.”
Satoru pursed his lips at Suguru seated beside him, deciding whether to be more annoyed by his holier-than-thou classmate’s accusation toward him, or the fact that he was butting in to his and Shoko’s conversation. So what if Suguru was the topic of their conversation? With all of his polite society bologna, he should’ve known better than to interrupt. Suguru wasn’t mad that Satoru refused to admit to being - maybe a little - wrong for once. He was angry because Satoru was better than everyone else and Suguru knew that better than anybody.
“That’s because,” Satoru said, spreading his hands in a presentational gesture, “I am better than everyone.”
“Gojo,” Shoko warned before snubbing her cigarette on her desk, shooting a cautious glance at the closed classroom door.
Satoru lowered his glasses and fluttered his lashes at Suguru. “Except you, Suguru.”
Satoru grinned at the widening of Suguru’s dark eyes and the rare sight of Shoko’s jaw dropping. He wished they could see themselves now. This reaction was worth the price of admitting for the first time that someone else was on his level. The strange thing about it was, he wasn’t even lying. The joy he took in admitting this was not limited to his amusement with his classmates. He genuinely realized now Suguru was on his level, perhaps the only one who he would ever consider as such.
Satoru slapped Suguru on the back. “We’re the strongest!”
Satoru crossed his arms and leaned back, stretching his legs out toward the front of the classroom as he grinned. He didn’t mind that Suguru was gawking at him now or that Shoko was staring at him in disbelief. He was right. He might’ve been wrong for once earlier, but he was right about this.
