Chilling in the stairwell after recording
Surreal Experience
Today was the first time I’ve ever been professionally recorded. This music camp I go to reached out to my band about recording the song we wrote over the summer. We of course jumped on that opportunity. I was so terrified the night before, but being in that recording studio I felt at home. Like that was where I belonged. I felt like the luckiest 17 year old ever to be graced with such fortune. The lights were dimmed and I felt like I was in the music video for “What the Water Gave Me”. I wore my Florence + The Machine t-shirt for good luck. I felt like Isabella Summers, taking aesthetic selfies and videos. I could just feel my guitarist/bassist grandfather standing beside me, guiding my fingers from heaven. It was truly the first time in months that I felt happy and at peace with the world and myself.
(Pictures and hopefully some videos from the recording will be posted shortly once I make sure all my band members are ok with me posting them)
