how would you fix the world?

Primarily through education reform and some sort of mandatory program for exposure to people who are disadvantaged in some comparative way. Something like every adult who has a stable home address and is physically capable must pick a day out of each year to spend time among people who lack at least one of their own privileges. You can choose whether to do volunteer work or just socialise and observe. It's all organised through official channels, so you can't game the system by hanging out with a friend of a friend, nor bother strangers who don't want you around. Also, you can't pick people of similar circumstances to anyone in, say, the last 5 years.

The direct good this would do with the increase in volunteer charity work would be nice, but the main point is opening eyes and teaching true civic responsibility for those benefiting from society to any extent. True change would flow from there in a natural and peaceful fashion.

And no, this doesn't mean I'm a socialist. The core idea is Leftist, but I'm being careful to balance it with Right-wing concerns about personal choice. I'm sure Right-wingers would hate the idea anyway, so don't think I'm saying that as a concession to them. I'm just concerned with what does the greatest good, and neither Left nor Right is entirely good when removed from the other.
