feedback on your reddit theme:
like and reblog button should be at the bottom. it looks cute to have them at the center in the left side, but how would that work for really long posts or long reblog chains? should users have to scroll up again just to reblog?
also, what's the use of the name in highlight next to the username? Tumblr doesn't have display names though?
Good job on the pages and sidebar though. It looks really clean and intuitive. is it possible to see the page links in the header though while you scroll? so that they're always accessible
and maybe an option to choose which sidebar box to pin on the side while scrolling so that the right side doesn't looks so empty while you scroll
Thanks for the feedback! The point of the theme is to mimic reddit's UI, so almost all of the UI decisions were based around that, not necessarily things I would normally do.
The like and reblog buttons mimic this:
I would consider reddit's placement even less user friendly for long posts since it stays at the top vs in the center of the post, so I thought center would be an okay compromise, but I think I'll opt for them being sticky instead of just fixed to one place.
The names are to mimic reddit's user flairs:
Tumblr doesn't have anything like this feature, so I'm using the original poster's blog title.
Of course none of these things are typical in tumblr themes, but that was part of the challenge of the theme. I added some options in the theme to turn off some of the reddit specific features though!
