"Um, I know you don't know me, but I think what you did back there was very brave."
Link looks up from where he’s resting at the base of a large tree, surprised. the face that greets him is one so famous even Link --- who is mostly indifferent to the world of pokemon battles --- recognises him.
what he did? pale brows furrow slightly, uncertain as to what Red is referring to. his blue gaze darts downwards, to the snoozing cubone cradled in the dip between his folded legs and --- oh. that.
“she needed help, and i was there,” Link replies, brushing off the praise with a nonchalant shrug. as though it was no skin off his back to climb down the side of a cliff to rescue a stranded pokemon. he tucks a stray strand of hair behind an ear, concern etched between his brows as he examines the creature. “she’s injured, though. i’m not sure if i should carry her. . .” the nearest pokemon center is quite a ways away, what with them being between towns right now. he glances up at the champion, the curve of his mouth vaguely ashamed. “i don’t have any potions or pokeballs on me.”
