Sam’s whole body was sore, he could’t even remember the last time he had been in this much pain. It had been a long fight, one they eventually won of course. He had gone straight home, knowing that he wasn’t on the verge of dying he decided to skip the whole post mission physical from one of the doctors at the base. Normally he was good about it, but today, today he couldn’t bring himself to care in the slightest.
He hadn’t heard anyone come in, and he had no idea how long he had be just laying on his bed half undressed. He had started to get fully undressed but his body had decided that he was much to sore for it. When he felt a relatively soft hand on his skin, as if it was feeling for a pulse, he nearly jumped. He forced his eyes open and spotted Peggy standing over him.
“Mhmm.. I’m still alive if that’s what you’re checking.”
He groaned a bit as he tried to force himself to sit up a little more. His body was not a fan of the movement, but he did his best to ignore it. He blinked a few times before looking back over at her. He smiled softly, trying to ignore the fact that she was gorgeous. He had a bit of a crush on her, but one he kept to himself, not wanting to risk things getting weird between them. He had pushed those thoughts aside as he turned his full attention to her, figuring that she had to be here for some reason other than checking his pulse.

THE LAST TIME, he’d called her to encourage her, to remind her who he is. ————— This time around, he’d surely known she’d stay regardless. The phonecall wasn’t a plead, it was a thank you. A chance to say goodbye and a chance to move on. A KINDNESS. She could tell from the moment her phone rang. And strangely, it made it easier, excited her - and still as emotional as ever to end.
This time there’s no hesitation. Clara strides towards the new Doctor with delight and dole weighing in equal measure. But she’s smiling. ❝ Thank you - for him, ❞ she begins. Clara doesn’t have much to say but it’s already written in stone as she carefully inspects and dissects every angle of the woman’s face.

Teeth flash a grin and she throws her body over her in a tight hug. She’s just glad the Doctor’s ALIVE, she knows better than to worry about anything else. ( Though with this regeneration, she doubts there’ll be any such issues to get used to. )

Steve groaned in response to her question, taking the medicine the dentist had given him for the toothache. “Sucks.” He grumbled after washing them down with a large gulp of water, setting the glass aside. Sighing quietly, he leaned against Peggy and gave another rather pitiful whine. “Just take me out back and put me out of my misery, Peggy.”

Liza laughed quietly when Sarah jumped up and hugged her, her own arms going around the girl to hug her back just as tightly. “Alright-- alright I’ll stay. Guy things just means... y’know. Boring guy stuff.” She muttered, pulling back slightly to fuss with Sarah’s hair, brushing it back out of her face. “What is it that’s got you so clingy, huh? And where’s your mom gone off to?”
“Well, I guess you don’t know everything about women yet.”
