@alwaysxinxtrouble sent | sender steps between receiver and an aggressive stranger, voice low and steady: "walk. away." (andrew) [ meme ]
Inside the bar had gotten a little… much. Noisy, smokey, smelled like stale beer and salt air and sweat -- at least outside the air was a little clearer. Except there was a bit of a chill in the breeze, and she’d left her sweater in the truck -- of course, the second she’d so much as shivered, Andrew had gone to get it for her.
She hadn’t expected, in that short timespan, for a couple of drunk frat boys to stumble out of the bar, spot her far too quickly, and start making comments. Liza stood there with her arms crossed, letting them whistle, but one couldn’t take her ignoring them -- or him, at least. “‘Ey, bitch, I’m talking to you.” Even slurring, he sounded aggressive and pissed, and she wanted nothing more than to disappear right then. Instead, she froze -- maybe he can’t see me if I don’t move, she thought, but he just strode closer. “Think you’re too good for--”
Liza sucked in a sharp breath when she felt a hand on her arm, but it was gone just as quickly as it came, Andrew pushing himself between her and the stranger. Anxiety swirled in her stomach and she reached out to touch his back gently, fingers closing in the fabric of his shirt just as the low, almost growled warning came from him.
“Fuck off, man, I was just --”
“Bro.” The aggressive one’s friend tried stepping in. “Bad idea.”
“Fine -- good thing I remember faces, sweetheart.” The stranger looked right past Andrew to where she was trying to make herself as small as possible, grip tightening on his shirt as fear flooded her system.
