I saw Vixen perform at Gurlesque ten years ago and was in awe. I signed up to her performance course ‘Unleash your Fire’ which unleashed Ember Flame (originally Silky Filthy!) and completely changed my life. Vixen is an incredible dancer, stripper, poet and now singer who channels the grace and fire of Nina Simone and Audre Lorde. It was wonderful to see her back in Sydney and on stage amidst a stellar line up of queer icons for the tenth anniversary of @redrattlersydney It’s been an emotional week for me and many others with the loss of a beautiful friend too young. As she prepared for her death, she taught me so much about what it means to live life well. Relish this gift of life and spend it doing what you love, sharing love with others.
