At the Red Terror Museum in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, I learned about the mass murder of over half million people during the dark times of the military dictatorship under Mengusti from my new friend, Menberu, who was tortured and imprisoned for 7 years in a small 10x10 cell with 50 other men who mostly died of starvation and/or cholera. Menberu said he was one of the lucky ones.
