IV fun facts:

hurts like hell when they put it in

the solutions they give you are at room temperature, so they will always feel cold and cool your hand down (either warm yourself up with your other hand or wrap a sweater around it)

every time you get a new solution, it will burn a bit at the start

the little access tube in your hand or arm gets entangled everywhere (your food, your clothes, the faucet)

removing the tube doesn't hurt at all

Looking at the calendar, and realizing that the days are ticking by. Three weeks until my surgery.

July 20th is fast approaching, and I don’t know how I feel. Terrified? Excited? Uneasy? I don’t know.

I know surgery is a completely new experience for me, I have to believe everything will go fine. But I’ve never been under, never had ANYTHING more extreme than dental stuff. 

I know my body is going to be significantly changed. Everyone reassures me that I will be happier for it. That my pain and discomfort will be addressed, and afterwards I will have the very normal experience of being able to purchase a bra in a NORMAL SIZE. No more specialty stores and ordering online and hoping. 

But god it’s scary. 

Got my very first bill related to all this, from my consultation visit. The first of many bills to come. I have no idea exactly how much money this is going to cost, even knowing Insurance is covering something like 85% of it. 

It’s....a little overwhelming.

I got my reduction today!!

Apparently they took about 5 lbs from each boob. I'm really high on pain medicine, but I am so happy that I got it done. They look so different! I hope you guys dont mind too much and all unfollow, but if you do, oh well.

The Quest for less boobage 3

Had my consultation today with the plastic surgeon and the verdict is: I QUALIFY FOR RAMQ COVERAGE!

They’re gonna reduce the boobage and I won’t have to pay for it!

I was all ready with a file of medical stuff for my spine and sleep apnea and medications and anything I could think of to prove I needed the surgery.

And the doctor just cuts me off and says “you don’t have to justify it. In this province, all you need to do is want a reduction. It’s based on size and I can tell my looking at you that you qualify.”

Cue butterfly feelings and happiness!

I even scheduled my surgery date for May already. Like omg I can’t believe it was so simple? Like I’ve heard horror stories...

Only tiny hiccup for me is that there is an option for getting liposuction beneath the under arms to deal with the saggy skin after the reduction and I have to pay for that out of pocket. But like...$3K is a lot better than $8K if I decide to go for it.

Which I might because I just spoke to my dad and he’s like, if they’re going to do it all in the same surgery, go for it and we’ll figure out the money bits. Because my dad is awesome and he sees how much me and my mum suffer for having big breasts.

And I’m just...SOOOOO EXCITED!!!

01/23/17 A few days ago, i put a binder on for the first time since surgery. And holy sheeeiit did it hurt. I lasted about an hour and had to take it off. I know that I have to be patient and wait for my body to heal but I feel like it's taking sooooo looooong. But hey. That's a real ass motha' fuckin' smile.
