The sun had vanished long ago now, and the night was cold.  Even in the cover of trees and cliff face, a chill managed to slip into the tent.  It wasn’t so apparent, however-- though Ceodore was young, his blood carried with it the resistance to block such temperatures from seeping into his skin.  And Kain, well... 

He had his own practices of resistance.

Despite such facts and claims, it was late, and they had been walking and fighting all day.  The dragoon was not one bit surprised to feel the other’s weight slump against his arm.  He peered down at his companion, the boy’s eyes already closing.

As for Kain, he was content to do without, if Ceodore would sleep well.

Leaving without telling anyone.  His solitude is important to him.  His friends are moreso.  He will learn one day not to worry them.

What has been your muse’s greatest success?

Accepting his flaws as part of himself was probably his greatest success.  Until then, he was running away from all manner of dark thoughts he perceived to be destructive, when all along that fear of himself and what he thought he might do was the most destructive thing he ever did, not only to himself, but to those around him.  It’s a good life lesson.

After finding out who the real culprit was behind his brainwashing, he decided to join the confrontation, against his fear and his companions’ doubts.  He put enormous trust in himself at a time when he had none, and that’s admirable as fuck.
