Reed900 Thoughts: Knights and Nobleman AU: Observation Diary from various sources about Prince Nines and Gavin’s relationship.
From the butler: When the lord arrived with his betrothed in his arms, it was a sight to behold. For the first time, we finally saw our prince smile. It was brighter than the sun on a beautiful clear day. We hoped that the young lord would find happiness and it seems he has. We will continue to support him in any shape or form.
From one of the knights: The prince’s betrothed is skilled with the sword. We watched them spar and it was invigorating to see. They seem to be evenly matched. The smile on the prince’s face didn't falter. It only grew wider when he carried Gavin in his arms.
Another entry on a different day from the same knight: It is proven that the prince’s stamina is the same in battle and in bed. May the goddess have mercy on our poor souls, sanity and ears, for we have been awake since the early morning yesterday and still have not slept. The new dawn has broken and they are still going at each other like two rabbits. I may as well die in battle from lack of sleep. This may be my last entry.
From a scullery maid: Gavin, the prince’s betrothed is very nice. Though he had tasked himself in taking care of the affairs of the estate, he still finds a way to spend time with us down here. Helps us in the kitchen too. It’s quite refreshing. Now i know why the prince smiles so brightly. Gavin seems to blush oh so flatteringly when teased about the prince. It’s adorable. We’re looking forward to more ‘complaints’ from him about our master.
From the grounds keeper: The prince is looking for his betrothed once again as he had ran off to the gardens. I said that I haven’t seen Gavin, but I have. He is under the bushes crawling like a snake….as per the screams and curses it seems he was found. I shall prepare a better hiding spot for the prince’s fiancé. It is entertaining to watch them frolic in the gardens like children. Reminds me of my sons.
From the head maid: Gavin has fallen ill and we have sent word for a doctor. Most of the staff have grown fond of him and would often visit. They all say the same, he calls for the prince in his sleep, unconsciously. We have sent a messenger to deliver the news. It seems the prince will be teleporting back in a few hours.
Correction: He's already back. Bless these two men, never have I scene two people more in love, despite the other denying it.
Context: I had a male teacher who grows out their hair whenever they have projects for the school that he need to ponder on. From the clean cut and short hair style, he just turns into a caveman of sorts....a hot caveman, mind you.
Anyway, that teacher manages himself well and we would know that the project is done when he cuts it. We asked him one time why he does that and he says it helps him think better. Googled it, he proved it by creating wonderful events for the students, so who were we to argue. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So...Reed900.
What if Gavin who is very ambitious and takes his cases seriously just lets his hair grow longer for the complicated ones, to help him think and that's how Nines meets him for the first time.
Nines would be instructed to pick up Gavin at his apartment and Gavin just comes out, still groggy from sleep, hair tussled and long hair covering his eyes, so he's like. "Huh, what?"
It's like almost past shoulder length. When Gavin runs his hand through his hair, Nines is just....
and stares at Gavin blankly before he was jolted by his system to say why he was there.
They get partnered, the usual prickly detective thing happens until he gets used to Nines presence. But...still will not get used to how Nines just stares at him all the time.
Just unabashedly, admires Gavin's long hair openly. Watches as he ties up his hair, how his muscles would bunch and bulge, making Nines all hot and bothered that they had to throw water on him to help cool him down coz his internals fans were not cutting it.
Tina braids Gavin's long hair for him, but when she isn't available Gavin tries his best specially when they're going to go out to arrest their perp.
Nines learned to braid Gavin's hair after a while. He uses it as an excuse 'to practice' but mostly to run his hands through them. Them happy android noises just comes out.
Nines: What do you use to make your hair all shiny and healthy?
Gavin: Just shampoo mostly, soap sometimes.
Nines: ....I...I don't think...
Gavin, shrugs: I get that from Tina all the time, its my genetics I guess, my brother has long hair and looks as healthy as mine.
Then one day, Gavin came to the precinct. Everything for Nines stops coz...Gavin cut his hair, and he's frozen in place.
Nines deviates at this point.
Gavin raises a brow at him asking what's wrong.
And Nines tears up, that had Gavin panicking. Connor was immediately at Nines side, about to glare at Gavin only to stiffen at seeing him all clean cut.
Tina and Hank save the day tho, explaining that Gavin usually cuts his hair and that it tends to grow longer pretty quickly. Nines just breathes a sigh of relief.
But Nines would always grab hold of Gavin, make him sit on his lap so he could bury his face on his crown or just keeps his hands on Gavin's head to soothe himself for the loss of such luscious locks.
Gavin: I can't work like this.
Nines: Please bear with it until you grow your hair again.
Gavin: That's going to take months!!
Nines: I'll buy you gallons of hair growth shampoo
Gavin had always had a hard time sleeping on his own ever since he became an adult and moved out of the family home. He tried everything from pillows to home remedies, it got so bad that he was sent home for being awake for a full two days and almost getting himself killed in action.
So, desperate times, he sought out his brother. He got a taxi to go to Elijah’s home. Not speaking a word at Elijah's surprised exclamations, Gavin dragged him to the bedroom, hugging on to him, with Elijah blinking in confusion.
"Chloe, Casey, Cleo?! Help?!" Kamski hissed trying to pull away only to be dragged closer by the sleeping Gavin.
The three ladies all came in giggling and taking pictures first, before explaining the situation to Elijah.
The next week, Gavin was on his desk when a shadow loomed over him, when he raised his head...A Connor look a like was staring down at him, menacingly. Gavin pushed away from his desk hitting Chris'
"What the phck--"
"Hello Detective Reed, I am an RK900 sent by Cyberlife."
A few shouting matches and begrudging grumbles later, it was concluded that the RK900 will be Gavin's work partner.
Through a little digging, Gavin found out Elijah had a lot of involvement in this so as soon as he can, he drove to his brother's home, with the android in tow.
He came in to Elijah's workshop raging and shouting at his brother who calmly dragged him to bed and patted his tummy. Which resulted in Gavin falling asleep almost instantly.
Elijah turned to the RK900. "This is what you do when he's cranky, usually he becomes like this when he lacks sleep. Now you know why I requested the DPD to assign you to him, so please keep him safe."
"Understood"
Elijah sighed, as he stared down at Gavin, who's arms were up, like a child after extensive play time. "He still hasn't grown out of this, huh."
The next coming nights to Gavin's chagrin, the RK900 would follow him home. Gavin blinked in confusion as he found himself carried him over his shoulder and plopped down in his bed. "Care to explain?"
"You lack sleep, detective, you need more. I'm here to help you." the RK900 said as he starts to come into bed and tap lightly on Gavin's tummy.
"I...dont...need"
"Shhhhh...sleep."
"N-No... *snore*"
The next morning, Gavin found himself being the little spoon, with the android right by his back... Gavin never felt more refreshed.
Gavin straddles Nines lap putting his hands on his hips, a knowing mischievous smirk on his lips while the bystanders were snickering and just convulsing in surprised laughter and delight.
Nines was blushing blue, his LED blinking between red, yellow and blue. Never in his time with the abrasive detective did he ever preconstruct THIS outcome.
“If you were intending to make a fool of me. You have to do better than that.” Gavin growled against Nines ear. Before he looked over his shoulder twisting his body to look at the others, “Alright which of you motherfuckers lost money?!”
Nines could hear the distant screeching of Tina in the background.
“No,” Nines grunted, hugging the man to him, “Gavin...please listen to me I--”
“How dare you...I fucking hate you, you hear me?!”
A pang of pain throbbed in Nines thirium pump regulator. He was used to Gavin’s abrasive language, but this is the first time he heard such conviction as he spat out those words that he couldn’t refute it. He only held tighter to Gavin as he tried to push him away.
“You made me...you made me like this,,,you made me weak,” Gavin sobbed, too weak to fight anymore and just was limp in the android’s arms. “You made me dependent on you...you made me,..fall in love with you so hard it hurts!” Gavin roared, thumping his fist on Nines back. “Then you’re just..just going to throw me away like everything meant nothing, for a fucking mission!”
Nines eyes widened and closed his eyes, still holding on to him, “Gavin that isn't it...that wasnt.” why can’t he speak?
Gavin gave one mighty heave and he was free looking down at Nines, “I wish I didn't love you.. i wish I never met you!” he rasped then turned away from him, Nines tried to stand up to try and run after him, but he couldn’t move. Rendered motionless, pain spearing through him as the love of his life walked away from him. Forever.
He curled into a ball. This is wrong. Everything is wrong. This isn’t...
Gavin! Gavin! Gavin!
Nines jolted awake, sitting up and looking at the place around him. He was in bed with Gavin sleeping soundly beside him. He turned to his side wrapping himself around the man who opened his eyes groggily. “Tin can? You okay.”
“Mmmmm”
“Bad dream?”
“Androids don’t get dreams...”
Gavin let out a sigh and put a hand on top of Nines LED that was shining a bright alarming red, “Then what’s with the light show?”
Nines didn't respond and just buried his nose into Gavin’s hair, taking in his scent. “Do you hate having a relationship with me?”
“What the—was that what your nightmare was about?” Gavin grunted and maneuvered himself to sit and straddle Nines, looking down at him with an annoyed look, before leaning in to kiss him passionately. When he pulled away there was a dazed look in those storm green eyes, “Does that answer the question?”
“No.” Nines giggled and sat up, holding Gavin down by his waist. “But it will have to do.”
“Wha—? What do you mean ‘It’ll have to do’?!”
Nines gave him a soft smile, “I love you very much.” And waited as a blush started to creep up Gavin’s cheeks. “Could you say that?”
Gavin stiffened and played with the hem of Nines t-shirt, the one he bought for him...a white sleeveless shirt with a cat on the front. “I—I...” he paused putting his forehead against Nines shoulder. “You’re embarrassing me.”
“We’re the only people here.”
“.....i love you very much.”
Nines kissed him on his temple, “Again...”
Gavin gripped his shirt, his hands shaking, “I love you very much, Nines.”
“Again...”
“Nines!”
Steel blue eyes met storm green, a puppy dog look, “Please..”
And they went over and over, both of them whispering sweet nothings and i love you’s to each other until Gavin was a bundle of goo on Nines chest, soothed and giggled. His nightmare completely forgotten
What was it that caught Gavin’s attention when he first saw Nines? HIS EYES
Azure eyes that change in the light, from steel blue to the color of the sky. It reeled him in, inevitably drowning in the sea of blue.
He may look like his brothers but its his eyes that made the difference. Even if he glares, narrows his eyes, sharpen them, and even on a rare occassion soften them. They were the most beautiful eyes he has ever seen. A real window to a soul he cant see.
He tried to deny it, tried to pull away...but he couldnt, no matter how hard he tried. Wth just one look from Nines, Gavin becomes undone.
And he doesnt want it any other way.
“Is there something on my face?”
Gavin choked on his coffee, coughing, “N-Nothing just lost in thought about the case.”
“Are you sure?” Nines gave him that soft puppy eyed look. The detective could just imagine cupid spearing his heart with his arrow.
“Fuckin—can’t I be distracted with my thoughts?”
“Not when you were almost slipping on the table looking at me with an increased heart rate and your eyes dilating, Gavin.”
“Just...” he turned away, walking towards his desk, “leave me alone.”
“No.” Nines said in a matter of fact tone walking after him.
Thus their little banter (argument) started anew. Just another regular day in the DPD.
When Gavin gets kidnapped there are two people in charge. But the most formidable and spine chilling out of the inner circle of the mob...is Nines.
Nines being Gavin's personal body guard takes it upon himself to make sure that his 'employer' is safe and sound. It's his main directive. Either if it was Gavin's stupidity or their competitors sheer dumb luck. He takes it very seriously, murderously so.
Nines' ‘interrogation’ was a scene no one could stomach. Though he does it on a daily basis, being deviant and very protective of Gavin. He takes it to another level.
"Where is Gavin?" He growled as he pulled at his gloves circling around their captive. He was only met with silence. “We either do this the easy way or the hard way. I personally prefer the hard way, but that’s your choice.”
Reed900 Thoughts Bad Guy/Mob AU: Detective Tina Chen
- After Tina found Gavin’s body double, thinking he was dead, she worked her ass off to pass her detective exams. She asked for training in the SWAT, she took initiative. She took to heart Gavin’s advice who had encouraged her, up until his ‘death’.
- She’s...(I dont wanna do this to her) Tina is a little hardened on this one. She misses Gavin a lot and seeing his body was a huge shock. It took awhile for her to recover from the grief and used that to fuel her drive.
- She uses Gavin’s desk. There are pictures of her friends and family, but the one at the center are of her, Chris and of course Gavin.
- She is relentless and driven in all her cases. Despite having an active case she still looks into Gavin’s ‘murder’ on her free time. Which led her to go to his house while following a trail. Gavin’s android cat Princess was nowhere to be found which led her to a few clues making her talk to Elijah Kamski, where Princess was. Thus she found the connection to Gavin and the CEO, they were half brothers.
Gavin was actually in the house at that time hiding in a closet with Nines.
“Shit, Ass, Tits!” Gavin hissed as his legs and arms were awkwardly pushing against NInes.
Nines deadpanned, “Seconded.”
- She was the one leading the current case that is tied up to Gavin and Nines operations. (Ah the fates can be cruel 😈)
“Attention!”
Detective Tina Chen strutted as the officers lined up, standing straight, donning their bullet proof vests. Her eyes narrowed at each one of them. “We got an anonymous tip that this place is a cesspool for one of the biggest drug cartel, expect the worst inside.” she stopped in the middle of the line up, “I expect each one of you to be alert and always keep an eye out. Do we understand each other?”
“Yes ma’am!”
She whirled and cocked her pistol, feeling for her combat knife. She lead the charge into the warehouse. She checked at the corner before signaling for her team to follow her. She’s been multiple raids like this working with Gavin before and she knows what to look for. She worked her ass off training with Allen and the rest of the SWAT doing what she had to do.
Despite her body moving by itself remembering her training, what was persistently pushing at the forefront of her mind was she was getting closer to finding the person that murdered her best friend. “I’ll get justice for you, Gavin. I promise you that.” she mumbled to herself.
A gun fight was to be expected and she was effectively separated from her team. It seems to be their plan. She was cornered by a burly man, that she immediately tried to take in to remember the face. Caucasian Male, tanned skin, a little older than her, 40-ish, streaks of white and black in his hair and beard. He had a dignified and dangerous air around him, not a simple lackey then, a little higher in the pyramid. Could he be the boss?
“Ah great.” The man huffed, scratching the back of his head and holstering his own gun. “He was right, of course he is.” The man crossed his arms at her even as she pointed her emptied gun at him. “Look Detective Chen, I’m not really allowed to touch you so it’s better you go and run off before things go wrong. You were duped and so were we.”
Tina’s eyes widened, “Not allowed to touch? Who the hell--”
“My boss. Don’t worry you wont be harmed,” he smirked at her, “if you go now.”
“Well that makes this easier.” she smirked, exuding faux confidence. “I don’t follow your boss’ orders. You’re under arrest.“
Tina grit her teeth. Her radio was quiet, even after she sent a silent ping for assistance, there was nothing. She kept her gun trained at him and the man just sighed.
They cautiously circled around each other. She was ready when the man grabbed for her gun. She struggled fighting for it while reaching out for the one on his torso. They tumbled around the ground, wrestling, Tina hitting him by the jaw and his large hands trying to palm her face away while holding down the safety of the gun so it wouldn’t fire. They ended up with both of them holding each other’s guns, smirks on their faces.
“I have to admit you sure know how to do some misdirection, detective.”
“And you’re well trained, those moves aren’t from a few skirmishes done on the streets.”
The man shrugged, his smirk growing into a grin. “I get by, been around long enough to know what I need. My boss can be quite a handful.”
Tina was about to open her mouth to ask why he seems to be a little happy, when an arm went around her shoulders and the gun pried of her hands with ease, “Well that’s no way to talk about me behind my back.”
Tina stiffened, there was something familiar about the way that arm came around her. She looked slightly behind her. She was used to having this contact with Gavin but was only met with a masked man. “Hey, Detective Chen, nice to finally see you face to face. I heard you’ve been quite persistent in tracking us down.”
His voice was altered by the mask and she couldn’t recognize it all.
The masked man tilted his head,“I wonder why? Hmmm?”
She blinked at him, as she thought he heard a small hint of sorrow in his voice.
“What do you suggest we do with her?” Another voice came in and she looked to the side to see another masked individual, this one taller, a few blood splatter on his collar as he pulled on his gloves. The man noticed her looking at the blood, “Don’t worry, your unit is alive, just a few unscrupulous ones. We don’t need to kill them yet.”
“Unless you want to be stubborn, as well.” The man with an arm around her said in a low growl, “I suggest you don’t, Tina. But if ever you want to discuss something.” He presented her with a card, slipping it inside her vest. “Feel free to call and visit me, anytime.”
She was knocked out and woken up by Allen and the rest of her team coming to her.
Fast Forward, she did go to the club. Gavin’s place with wires inside her clothes. She confronted him as soon as she was escorted to a private room with just the two of them.
“Aren’t you going to take of that mask? I won’t tell anyone.”
The man chuckled and pushed a glass of long island ice tea....her favorite bar drink. She glared at it, before lifting her eyes at him. How the hell did he know.
“So, we’re here, what would you like to know? Besides my face of course.”
Tina didn’t have time for these games. “You were the one that killed my bestfriend.”
Gavin, still wearing his mask just stared at her, his fingers laced together. “This is what you want to discuss, detective? Not your case, but your bestfriend’s murder?”
“There’s nothing more important to me.”
There was silence as they stared at each other. Tina leaning forward not touching the drink, and the mob boss sitting comfortably on his chair. “Why?”
The detective blinked at the man,
“Why are you so persistently trying to find out his murderer? What would you do if you found the man that killed Gavin Reed? Will it give you peace? Will you finally be able to move on? Will it stop you from going after us and being a fucking thorn on my side.”
“If that’s what it takes.”
The air was tense and Tina tried hard not to squirm at the burning sensation she was feeling from his gaze. “Don’t wish for a truth that you won’t be able to handle, Tina Chen.” he growled. “Do you really think once you find out what happened, why it happened that you’ll move on? What if what you knew all along was nothing but lies?” His left arm twitched, making Tina’s eyes flicker over to it, seeing a ring that was turning yellow to red and a tattoo running up his arm.
“Why? Are you afraid?” she smirked, gulping as he saw him tense.
Gavin stood up from his chair lazily and stood over her.
Tina stiffened, her eyes widening at the sudden shift of the atmosphere. She shouldn’t have said that, the screaming in her earpiece said so too. This man was intimidating and he knows it. He runs a fucking organization that they were trying to crack down for years and this is the closes they had ever gotten. She can’t fuck it up now.
Despite the fear and bile creeping up in her throat, she met him head on, not breaking eye contact even as she felt herself shake.
The man reached out, making her close her eyes, bracing, not seeing the man close his fist at the sight of her fear. When she opened her eyes again he was already back in his chair. “Leave, Detective Chen. You aren’t ready for it.”
“What would I have to--”
“There’s nothing you can offer that I would want.” Gavin said as he put ice in the glass sitting empty on the table. “Leave or you will be forced to and I don’t think the people listening in on our conversation would like the surprise waiting for them outside if they even dare and step out of the van when we throw you out.”
She stood up huffing, making the man chuckle softly, she reached the door, a hand on the knob, “I will fucking pester you, even if its the last thing I do.”
Gavin looked over his shoulder at her, “I’ll be looking forward to it.”
====
The next time she came to the place, a whole squad from the SWAT behind her...
It was deserted. Devoid of the liveliness a bar should have had. It was empty except for a note in the middle of the room.
