I have a hard time drawing Nevin, and ive had a hard time drawing at all recently. I rarely draw Nev. So, why not use him as my free space? I've drawn him very few times.

in april, me and my friend ghost(@qhostpi22) had some previous chit-chats about fake chapters and what would be fun to see. homie really liked the idea of an arcade chapter, and linked it to being locked up inside of a playground(fnaf episode he called it). in the arcade chapter edward gets locked inside an arcade machine, alongside felix who literally has to gamble against a demon for tickets to escape (
he definitely helped build these ideas up better than i could, and there were more ideas tossed in i wouldnt be able to draw
i liked the idea of a theater chapter, and the idea that some of the cast helped build the frozen set and painted it. some of them being chris, nevin, and ed. except nevin and edward cant get along and todds trying to lock in - where harley and chris try to conversate without the huge personalities in the way; it was more of a relaxed episode aside from ed and nevin constantly neck and neck as well as todd being...well, todd.

think of it as if an important event happens in his life, he cuts his hair, if something doesn't, he grows it out and puts it up. repeating process, but it shows that an important situation happened
basically just began drawing them in different-ish outfits and using them among my newer style. Struggled a lot, my clip studio paint stuff went out, and from there I had to figure out a new program. Which means my Nevin Bug drawing was scrapped completely and unable to access. Going forward, Rory was my first IBVS OC when I joined - following way after was Owen. Ill add more of a ramble below a line. I did change some of their stories here and there.
Rory was originally made during a kind of iffy time for me, which only resulted into the rest of 2025 to be a huge train wreck. Owen was completed a bit further through 2025. A lot of them hold memories I do not really want, mainly Owen. Rory I had not touched due to a bad feeling of using him, and I had no idea what to do with him after making him. So like any OC I have made I never use, he was tossed towards the side after surrounding bad thoughts. I rejected the project, and never looked back.
Owen had a lot more work put into him, which is one of the main issues I had with him I the first place. Trying to rework bits and pieces of his story was a massive headache - so any drawing i did do of him was scrapped and gave me stress. I would look back on the drawings during that time and sour, since he really didn't have much to him aside from being an accessory to another character. The only drawing that I actually like now, at the end of this year, is him jumping over a fence. I don't think I'd keep the "dead dove" nickname for him, he probably would be called like "flying rat" considering Doves can be commonly mistaken for Pigeons.
Owen and Rory were a comfort project, but Rory was the main piece I tossed to the side and put all the work into Owen without thinking much on it. Now that I somewhat have my thoughts together, I began doodling family trees to the side of the references.
Doing those awkward large references I had done before only stressed me trying to recreate it. I dont know how I did before, but drawing it so simply in the newer style just felt easier on my back.
For the story, another side note but one to help find shit or recall a memory that should have been long gone (i.e Drew). He was originally friends with Isaac in the idea of them both being artists - but I really don't think that'd smooth over well. He's probably his own person, and does look to Isaac sometimes but I think he's more reserved in that matter.
Rorys story had a weird turn. I really liked the idea of him having triplet little brothers but I had never really worked with it. I wanted to draw them in the reference too just as Tutti was for Owen.
If you have ever seen Brave from Disney, it was a show I heavily grew up on. It was my favorite, and I did wanna put some of that into Rory. None of it really stuck, but the three silly little siblings definitely grew on me. They always made me chuckle
Rory's powers was hardly built on, but I still remember them clearly. One of them was he could enter throguh graffiti - using it to his advantage to go places he probably shouldn't. His other would be using anothers hand after dipping a brush, using his watercolors to recreate a memory that had happened. The memory power was going to be use3d for a silly Chrisler drawing that I never ended up finishing or doing.
He still moved away from Ireland with his dad to live in California with his stepmother. His mother still gave him the nasty nose scar, but he now has to deal with Flynn, Flint and Finn. They're probably going to be my favorite to play with, considering Rory now mostly has a purpose. I never draw family drawings much, if drawing Nevin and Drew doesn't speak for itself. I feel like Rory would have to pay his siblings off to steal things such as answers to school papers if they could come inside.
I don't think they'd talk very much either, probably just have silent nods back and forth of what to do - me and Bug, my real life little brother, have that. If something we see happens we don't like, or like, we text eachother and point to things. Usually we get the memo, haha.
For Owen, he still dies. He dies the same way, a muscle deficiency that grows worse over time making him practically rendered unable to do anything. Here, I just stuck with his simple broke wrist he usually was drawn with only displayed with bandages. In the reference it is a bit to the side. I added more stuff to his jeans, upgraded his shoes, and even gave him a small over-coat.
His brother wouldn't die the same way Owen would, not exactly anyway. Having the both die from a very specific problem makes me sigh. So, in return, Evan would either die in a car accident or drown. It wouldn't matter which, but if he had drowned it would make sense that Owen feared water - or if he had a car accident, why he doesn't drive. Owen never really drove I think, he walked anywhere and everywhere. I do think the car accident is likely the better choice.
He would likely still stand up to Edward, everything so forth with how he would call Ed and the others out for bullying only to get his ass kicked - hes still powerless. I think it adds to the charm of what the fuck is this guy doing
It wouldn't be a major thing, hes a side character that can be easily forgotten if you hardly bat an eye
Thats why I love him. Hes a very unserious fellow, with a silly cat he carries around and just loves on. He was overly charismatic only to rebel against Edward without it working. The best part to me, is that if he were to do it in a public space to him it wouldve been a
