Sydney trio Loose Change have a video for their brand new one, ‘Yes or No’, and we’re tickled pink to be exclusively premiering it today.
On this one, the dudes rope in the services of Betty Grumble, the child-beauty-queen-gone-wrong alter-ego of performance artist Emma Maye, who stars as a disenchanted council worker who spends her days raking ciggie butts in the park. That is, of course, until Loose Change MCs Rapaport and Ellesquire rock up in a cool old ice cream truck, blaring their soulful hip-hop cut out into the world, and empowering Betty to cast off her shackles (and overalls) in a wonderful expression of movement, colour and totally infectious joy.
Says director Jeremy Graham:
“I wanted to create a fun and engaging film clip that highlights amazing talent from Sydney’s underground performance art scene, and we thought this would be a great opportunity to collaborate.”
Produced by creative collective Paper Moose, the video for ‘Yes or No’ is a real winner. Which is fitting, because the song itself, with that slick production and smooth-as-shit chorus, is all kinds of killer.
