Mechanical Engineer - Project Leader Our client is looking for a mechanical engineer with proven technical, project management and leadership skills, to undertake a variety of roles related to the design and development of laboratory automation and instrumentation within Sample Management Group. The following characteristics are essential: • EU citizenship • A good degree (1st or 2.1) in mechanical engineering from a leading university. • Experience of managing engineering design and development of laboratory products or automation systems • Experience of taking your designs from concepts through to successful commercialisation • Practical experience with mechanisms and machine elements The following are desirable: • Experience in using 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks. • Experience in the preparation of requirements specifications, project planning and reporting. • Industrial design skills and /or DFMA skills would be an advantage Personal qualities will include: • A self-starter - able to use initiative and take responsibility. Organised and thorough. • Creative but pragmatic and self-critical. • Good communicator – both with teams and customers. • Enthusiasm and determination.
