Ingredients

Approx 1/2 lb ground beef or ground turkey 1/2 TBSP taco seasoning 1/4-1/2 cup re fried beans 1/4-1/2 cup salsa ( jarred or homemade) 1/4-1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your desired flavor) 2- 4in flour tortillas your choice of toppings, ex: tomatoes, green onions, olives Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Brown ground beef in skillet.  Add in taco seasoning.  Drain if needed.  Spray baking sheet with non stick cooking spray.  Lay one tortilla on sheet.  Spread with beans, then, with meat. Cover with second tortilla. Bake for 10 minutes.  Remove from oven.  Spread top tortilla with salsa, then, top with cheese and desired toppings.  Bake an additional 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted completely. Cool slightly before cutting.

Lessons Learned

Running a game you learn a lot of lessons. Some examples are: Never give a player one way out, Never expect one thing to be how it ends, and more (to be explored at a later date). Most recently I have found a more recent issue.

Specifically what I have learned recently is something everyone should know naturally.

Recently I had decided I would have a game based on the background  of a PC who was very one dimensional. The idea was that focusing on his own background he would be forced into developing his character. He would have a decision of siding with his tribe (which was dying off due to story reasons) or the imperium. It was a great plot thread in my mind. There was temptation, duty, loyalty, all of what was important in a game. I only forgot one important thing,

That was of course the agency of the player.

When given the choice the player (who was a shoot first ask questions later guy who I was trying to develop due to distinct lack of characterization) choose death by cop. He chose to shoot the big boss on the back of the head. Of course the boss survived  and unfortunately the PC died, but this taught me one thing that was important.

The lesson was that no one game or mission should be based on a character. Maybe at the most have a group of enemies be an enemy to one character (based on their background) but never ever base a mission on them. Always make sure the mission can be interpreted an honest to god mission, as that is the goal.
