Completely immersed in work and trying to make sure everything was perfect for the party that would take place later, Jinho lost track of time. He’d hit ignore on his phone’s reminder and then forgot about it. Thankfully, there were some perks to having worked with this family for a while now because they could immediately see the panic in his eyes and offered to have their driver drop him off. Which was sure as hell faster than taking the bus, so he gratefully accepted. After giving the school a call to let them know he was running a little late, he kept watching the clock. And he nearly bolted from the vehicle as soon as the school was in sight.
Feet legitimately shuffling as not to overexert himself, or come across as rude, he made his way down the halls and came to a stop at the classroom. The last thing he wanted was for his daughter to think that he had forgotten her. While he was almost expecting to turn the corner and find her crying, it turned out to be quite the opposite. “Hey...” Jinho swallowed, trying to catch his breath as he glanced between the two. “Sorry. I didn’t realize the time.” Hanuel ended up running to him, Jinho expecting a hug but again, he was sorely mistaken. “Daddy, this is Mattie!” She pulled him further into the classroom as his eyes landed on the other male. “This is... this is the Mattie you’ve been talking about? As in Matt. Mattie.” Jinho blinked. He had this completely wrong. Not that it really mattered, right? It just wasn’t what he was expecting. “I—sorry. I’m Jinho. It’s, uh. It’s nice to finally put a face to the name. She talks a lot about you.” Jinho chuckled, offering his hand to be polite.
