Reflection
I sometimes think back to all that has happened to me these past years and it made me realize that my true self is defined by the actions i chose to make after the unimaginable broke me down.

Between a close call/near death experience and finding photos of my childhood self through the years
I've spent a lot of time reflecting, both on how fortunate I was to not lose my life, but also on what my life has become. Looking back I see a young boy with dreams in his eyes and a smile that lights up a room. Now I seldom smile, if at all. What happened? Where or when did the wheels come off? I feel like it's been a few lifetimes since I was the dorky child grinning in those photos. Truth be told, I miss it. I'm tired of always feeling so miserable all the time. Maybe one day I can get back there. I'd like that.
