This is why people in the USA refrigerate their eggs. Most people buy their eggs at a grocery store. Grocery stores can only sell eggs from places, usually processing plants, that have been approved by, and get regular inspections from, our Food and Drug Administration. The FDA requires that eggs be washed to remove any debris, dirt, or chicken feces, so that doesn't contaminate all of the eggs during processing.
I've seen UK cooking shows which mention that your eggs do not have to be refrigerated, and even that it's a stupid thing to do. That may be true there.
