little earl (now majo) and big earl (now skaro)
#litter bros!!!#i was team little earl for sooooo long he had a rough start. ended up w big earl because by the time they got deliverable#little earl was still sporting a bit of a preemie head.#throughout their early weeks majo was a little behind the curve and skaro was a little ahead#and for 3rd dog i wanted the safe pick#+ if he were to be able to breed on... you know#little earl was a fighter though.#started support feeding bc he wouldnt grab the teat.#held it fine! wouldnt grab it.#breeder started syringe feeding. never had an issue w that.#been in shelties since shelties came to scandinavia 60yrs ago.#pick em up shove the open end in the open end squish. but no#not little earl#lock his jaws he would.#refuse to open.#open only if!!!!!!! running start.#so from the age of like 2.5 weeks he'd be sprinting full tilt all 4 legs engaged across the bed to eat. several times a day#('this is so obviously your puppy.' everyone told me. 'the biggest goddamn weirdo this breeder has experienced since 1965 is obvsly yours.'#meanwhile big earl (skaro)#grabbing holding and suckling all teats just fine#was shaped alike a halfway thing between a common household pear and an exceptionally large tick#took abnormally long to start walking simply because the legs didnt reach beyond the belly.#but again.#safe choice#very special place in heart for little earl.
