Vicious cycle
Patriarchy: We hate y'all and this is a legislation to prove it.
REGs: We're hurt by this. Maybe if we oppress vulnerable minorities our status in the hierarchy will improve and patriarchy will hate us less.
Minorities: Honestly, fuck you both.
REGs: Stop reverse hating us, minorities!
Patriarchy: Not being an omniscient hive mind we can't uniformly react to REGs behavior even if we cared and essentially by the definition of prejudice we don't. Here's some more oppressive legislation. Enjoy, you tools.
REGs: Oh no, our status worsened :( Maybe if we stopped catering to patriarchy we would have enough power to bring it down... ... Nah, let's harass minorities some more. That'll surely work.
