@regal-bird sent: "I've just been having a very bad and hard day. To put it lightly." for Velvette (beginning of her peasant arc)
Ugh.
The sound didn't actually leave Velvette's lips, but it might have as well. Both her expression and her stance spelled out, loud and clear, how she felt about the whining she was being forced to listen to. Stella should be grateful for the fact that she was used to much worse, thanks to Valentino, or the fashion diva wouldn't have any patience for it.
Deep down, the wallowing didn't surprise her much. She had made her business to know what life was like for demon royalty and she could see why her newest recruit was so distressed and miserable. A fall from grace, from that higher up? It definitely had busted her ass open.
However, that didn't mean that Velvette was going to baby her, or even just be sympathetic. She would be tolerant because Stella had attracted a lot of new fans and subscribers and because she was a rare prize for an Overlord, but that was it.
She wasn't nice, she had never been and she wouldn't have started to be now, in Hell of all place. Besides, the former Princess needed to toughen up and going soft on her would have been counterproductive.
"Yes, yes, welcome to the club. That's how Hell is like, y'know? You never noticed because you were living in your golden bubble or whatever," the fashion diva answered, rolling her eyes before returning them on her phone. "This is real life. Learn to turn your bad days into fruitful ones. Or, rather, let me do that. That's why you agreed to work for me, isn't it?"
She patted Stella's arm condescendingly, before gripping at it so that she could start dragging the other out of the changing room.
"Good. Self-loathing time over. I have the concept for you next outfit ready and I need it to be finalised today."
