Detective AU + Grief Fic
Shun is a police detective who lost his old partner, Yuto, in a firefight a few years back. Since then he’s been moody, angry, and impossible to work with, and he’s very close to losing his job entirely as he tries to drown his grief by trying to track down Yuto’s killer. In an attempt to get him back on his feet, commissioner Reiji sets him up with a new partner: a fresh-faced, excitable recent police graduate named Yuya. Buddy cop shenanigans ensue, but after a close call, Yuya learns about Yuto, and surprises Shun by agreeing immediately to help him look for the killer, despite it being off the books and potentially could lose both of them their jobs at best and their lives at worst.
How likely do you think it is that Hide doesn't have a secret past and is just a normal guy? I always liked how Hide fit into the TG universe as this weird outlier, just a smart college kid who was a step ahead of the government and terrorists.
It could be possible, but we’ve just had so much information about Hide withdrawn from us that I just feel like it would be an anticlimax to just reveal that there wasn’t really anything more to him. I do like the idea of him just being a normal human, but if all he was was a normal college student and nothing else, seems kind of OP to have him just know all this shit? Like, knowing about the Washuu and being able to convince an entire army of ghouls to work with the CCG? Also he seems to just know about everything; super suspicious imo

That’s a very tough question! As a single Magic-specific story that isn’t a novel, I think I’ll go with The Prodigal Sorcerer. It’s a high seas adventure that very much encapsulates the feel of Magic: the Gathering for me. I’d also like to say I really love Hour of Eternity. All short little vignettes that could be taken entirely out of context and still be fantastic and heartbreaking.

Officially 13’s canon gender is unknown. It’s a similar situation to Corona from Soul Eater. However, given the higher than usual presence of genderqueer people in bnha we can almost certainly assume 13 is meant to be canonically agender.
