Does anyone have any thoughts/notes etc about regenerative dissonance I’m really curious as to how other people view and write it
Apparently Dark Gallifrey Master finally gives us a second individual in BF with Regenerative Dissonance.
They're the first known individual with the condition. And they're... a fairytale cannibal who once tried to conquer D-Space.
:/
regenerative dissonance is kinda sysphobic actually
In my headcanon, all the Time Lords with regenerative dissonance who committed suicide actually did so because they were unable to cope with the discrimination in Time Lord society, since they see RD as shameful and a taboo. Their reputations were further tarnished by the Collective, the Master, and his “Mother Quiver.”
It’s also possible that some of these supposed suicides were actually murders, staged to look like suicides, caused by the Collective’s pettiness, wanting to show off how unique he is and claiming he has lived longer than any other Time Lord with RD.

DW Niche Writing/Recommendation Roundup
Did one of these last year, about six months ago now (more as an ad for my Amended Lives series back then) but figured I should do one again, this time more general.
First of all, my own stuff. No more Amended Lives so far (I'm working on it but I had other ideas). This time we have.
Robert Banks Stewart Doctor meets Gravity Falls
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Douglas Camfield Doctor meets Terraria Calamity Mod
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Both from a vague DW crossover series idea I had, one that I don't necessarily intend to fully develop but still one I wanted to explore a little.
Then thirdly there's Skyfall
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
My first full Herrick Doctor story, featuring the return of regenerative dissonance Time Lord Yanis, an attempt to create a character with the condition that isn't just a bunch of cliche 'evil split personality' tropes.
Previously in their fourth incarnation in Conspiracy of Censeron, now returning for their regeneration into their sixth incarnation. Featuring copious EDA references, Raptors, Eldritch Time Lords, lesbians and Tecteun and Rassilon both being awful. (TW: Ableism and predatory animal hunting typical violence).
Speaking of Eldritch Time Lords I also contributed to @eldritchdimensionality with a Holmes Doctor story 'Broken'. Also check the whole thing out, as the other stories in the first issue are fantastic.
Then lastly we have Architects of a Failed World, at the Cheshire House, a part of the Castaways of Ishiok series.
In addition to my own work I also have some recommendations, starting with the Cheshire House (@thecheshirehouse) which has had a lot of stories since I last recommended them. Particularly the start of @theangelshavethephonebox's Zadellin series with 0rigins and the continuation of Plum Pudding's Disparate Minds series. Highly recommend.
Next up, Forgotten Lives Fanfiction. First up with @the-last-teabender, creator of the Hinchcliffe Doctor's contribution to Doctor Who day.
The blog of author and journalist Kara Dennison. Books, critical essays, observations, and more.
And following up on this is Chris Wing, writer of Hope Springs's Christmas Special.
Merry Christmas everybody! I really fancied revisiting the Camfield Doctor, with Carol, and also add a little more to the characters of Lee
In addition to this there's the start of the Salem Doctor series, based on my original concept, which itself was based off Jonathan Morris's suggestion, and conceptualized collectively on the Forgotten Lives server as a community characterbuilding project. @thesalemdoctor's incarnation
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
And that's all for the moment. If you choose to read, or even if you don't read mine but choose to check out one of the recommendations. Thank you.
Till next time. Thien Valdram.
my fancast of the Collective
just a fancast of the Collective (or the Multitude, the Integer, the Conglomerate, the Number... What ever the f*ck we can them lol)
highlights meaning they've already been casted
the One - Jim Broadbent (Fussy old archivist, pedantic, logical, bookish, knowledgeable on many Gallifreyan secrets)
Has that look of an old nerd gone rogue
the Two - Michael Maloney (Charming, calm, convincing, reasonable, liar and manipulator)
the Three - Jack Gleeson (extremely childish, self-centred, bratty, playful, sadistic)
the Four - Paterson Joseph or Mark Elstob (Boastful, narcissistic, sophisticated, superior)
the Five - Daniel Radcliffe or Martin Freeman (Cocky, concieted, wise-cracking, a confident trickster, a jokester who enjoys annoying his other selves)
the Six - Vinnie Jones (a chaotic, bloodthirsty, maniacal psycho)
the Seven - Robert Carlyle (unscrupulous, reclined, rude, abrasive, precise, clinically analytical scientist, prefers elegant solutions)
the Eight - Tim McMullan (the tormented good man)
the Nine - John Heffernan (Klepto master thief)
the Ten - Julian Bleac, David Bateson or Jamie Glover (deceitful mesmersist)
the Eleven - Mark Bonnar (THE GOAT)
the Twelve - Julia McKenzie (the headstrong, well-mannered and disciplinary granny)
the Thirteen / Madame Union - Maureen O'Brien
