Metroid?

OH MAN, THIS IS HARD. THIS IS REALLY HARD. Metroid has SO MANY remixes for it, it’s hard to choose, so many of them are so great…The first one that comes to mind for me though is Kindred, an absolutely stunningly haunting remix of probably one of my favorite themes in the whole game, the rocky underwater area of Maridia in Super Metroid. I seriously had like a spiritual moment the first time I heard that remix, it was SO GOOD. But I am a sucker for any remix of the rocky underwater area. Along the same lines, Noumenon (and its spiritual counterpart Avien) also chokes me up a bit, as well as Beyond the Glass and Singularity. There was also a vgpiano project a long time ago that did a really moving version of the theme, and I also REALLY love this cleaned up version of the theme dariusalpha did, though that’s not really a remix. I just love this song so much.One of my other favorite Metroid tracks is Norfair from the original Metroid, which doesn’t get too much attention sadly. I’ve always found it kind of soothing and a bit melancholy. I love Sugar, Water, Purple and the SSBB Norfair remix a lot, as well as Bubble Tea, though I wish there were more. OH I also LOVE the Metroid Metal version of Norfair IT HAS SUCH A GREAT INTRO and I love The Tunnel from Metroid 2 as well, that game has so few mixes but the ones that do exist are all really good I think. Anthem of a Metroid Hunter is also from Metroid 2 and it has a snip of the Baby Metroid theme which I love so much waaaaI also love the twin remixes All the World in One Girl / One Girl in All the World and Edenal. Wingless’s piano is so emotive, waa. I also love Energy Tank and Zebes Rising for hard driving trance, Secrets for the stupid bass, and The Mother is in Control for the sinister threatening industrial sound. From the Depths from the Harmony of Heroes project is pretty epic too, there’s the classic Crystal Flash 21 minute medley from Super Metroid of course, and Familyjules7x’s Super Metroid medley is AMAZING.

BONUS ROUND!  Let’s see, what else?  Oh, Only You by Captain Jack!  I discovered Captain Jack in the summer and I had a mix CD that had…I think two songs that WEREN’T his, and I’d kick the jams and play Kirby Superstar on ZSNES.  His cover of Iko Iko throws me back too, good times!

Well, let’s see…the tapes Mom got me were Brigadoon, Annie, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and the Prince of Egypt soundtrack, so anything from there.  I listened to Prince of Egypt the most, probably, I would listen to a lot of tapes when I was stuck on video games so that was quite a few temples in Ocarina of Time.  Also RENT, because Megan got that on CD and she’d play it at the computer while I played games nearby.  Hahaha wow was I too young for that, awesome.

I don’t know if Crow would let me share it but they recorded Eight Melodies for me and that is important ok.  That having been said, I have so many voice crushes, but I’m going to bypass Alan Cumming and Anthony Stewart Head for Rick Moranis singing Suddenly, Seymour.  Alan Cumming and Anthony Stewart Head have the kind of sinister allure to match their voices but with Rick Moranis it’s like HOLY HELL THAT IS SOME RAW BUSINESS THAT LITTLE DUDE IS LAYIN’ OUT.
