I never intended this blog to be child-safe, but I know a lot of people aren’t aware of any of the darker fandoms I go in and out of since I haven’t been in one for a while, haha. hi everypony ..

i'm gonna be soo so honest i was extremely hesitant to post this and i'm not sure why.😭 i found a very old fan-comic i made for Handplates back in the sixth grade (so 2019 ish? just before the COVID pandemic), and i decided to redraw it. now, keep in mind, this comic had been made before watching beyond season two i believe? so there are likely inaccuracies. and full honesty i was a little too lazy to rewrite it, i decided to just make a DIRECT remake of the original.

BUUUUT here we are. the new and improved comic <3

hello! hope its just my paranoia but i recently tried to download ssp from the official site. but my chrome seemed suspicious of it, so i downloaded the file and placed it through virustotal and it said there were malware and trojans in the file. i quickly deleted it but im a bit concerned if ill get hacked just because i wanted to have a little buddy on my screen....

There's nothing to worry about! It's a known false positive. In fact, if you look on the official site, you'll see this section that mentions VirusTotal:

VirusTotalをはじめとした一括ウイルススキャンサイトで、有害判定となる場合がありますが、技術的に完全なチェックソフトは存在しないことによる擬陽性ですので、安心してお使いください。 毎日ClamAVで最新版をウイルススキャンしています

Running this through google translate results in the following:

You can even click on that last sentence to be taken to the results of the daily ClamAV scan.

A lot of us have used ukagaka for years without issue. It's not just Some Mysterious Shady Program™, there's a whole thriving community of ukagaka devs out there, both in English and Japanese! That wouldn't exist if SSP were malicious software.

Honestly, I'd recommend checking out the English and Japanese communities and getting to know some of the folks involved if you're concerned. I think the community itself, with all of its history and resources and events, is the best reassurance there could ever be that this program is legitimate.

I didn't end up drawing too much this weekend cause I was revamping my art gallery site instead! Added some cool new features, hehe.

Has a byline for when each subgallery updated and with how many pictures! Includes subfolders

The preview images for big galleries now have the last six images uploaded!

When you click an image, it tells you now when it was uploaded! And there are next/previous buttons to easily go through that folder.

Each image now has a comment from me! Usually my Devart desc but sometimes my Tumblr one or a brand new one, depending. Some of them reflect when I first originally posted them rather than the current day as a result.

I have it set up so it shouldn't be too hard to maintain in the future, BUT I do still have to add the comments in manually, and there are like... thousands of pictures (hoooowwww), so it's taking some time. I've been taking it piece by piece, but a few galleries are done! The Metroid, Misc, Pikmin, Half-Life, Neko Atsume, Mother, Starcon2, and Megaman LegendsTeisel and Glyde ones should all have their comments. Some of the lady ones have theirs but I'm still chipping away at that so some are missing.

I didn't realize how many images were in there until I set up an overall count and it's an insane amount!! That's not even everything, there are all the pencil sketches I've done which usually only get posted on LJ/DW, and a bunch of really old finished art that I just don't like anymore, and doesn't cover other things like flash movies or ghosts or things like that. It kind of brings into perspective just how long I've been doing art...

is there any official handplates merch or physical copies of the comics?

There aren't any physical books for Handplates because the extreme height and narrow width of the comics makes it incredibly difficult to put into a book format... maybe someday I'll tackle it but it's just such a huge problem. D: There are prints and stuff at my little store though, and sometimes I have keychains and such but they're all sold out right now, haha.

Some of you may remember I made a tiny simple ghost (what's a ghost?) a while back that put my DemoSoldier sprites (and the Spycrab) on your desktop, but I decided to add some more! This ghost is meant to be super simple, so these new shells don't have a lot of functionality, but I think they're cute little decorations and I like having them around. They can keep you company!

Demoman and Soldier - Bounce in place. Double-click and they jump! Move them close and they'll kiss. :3

Spycrab - nothing, just crabs around

Edgar and Scriabin - nothing, just hangs out

Larry and Kabu - Double click for Larry to recharge!

Gimmecat - Wanders around your desktop randomly! Double-click for a message. >:3

These shells are very simple and small so it's easy to add new ones, haha. If you want to change which sprite you've got, right click them and go to "change shell" and pick the one you want.

Anyway I decided to make them their own page since they aren't just TF2 focused now, so you can pick them up from here (or from Mediafire if you're having trouble)! If you already have SSP installed, just drag and drop the z_sprite.nar onto your current ghost and they'll install. If you don't have SSP or aren't familiar with ghosts you can check out the wiki page for more instructions! This ghost does very little other than add these little guys so don't expect any dialogue or anything, haha.

(If you make your own shells for this with your own little sprites or what have you let me know |D i dunno if anyone will but i'm throwing it out there)

Larry and Kabu got a new event together where they go to a hot spring! :D Seemed like a good reason to finally finish this fic I've been working on for a while, haha. Mostly silly and lighthearted, Larry crushing hard and trying not to make it obvious while Kabu tries to teach him how to swim.

It's been ages but I decided to dust these two off and do some work on them. Mostly small things but every finished convo is another step towards finishing them! If I ever do lol. They're going to be so complicated, sometimes it feels so overwhelming... filling out simple files like etc.dic seem way more managable right now, haha.

No one will ever see this dialogue but it makes me laugh every time I think about it so I might as well preserve it here lol.
