Summary: It’s Valentines Day with our nerdy little vampire
***
You winced as the bright sunlight suddenly blinded your eyes. Your hand came up in an attempt to block out the sharp rays.
“Good morning, my dear.” Regis’s voice came from your right, his warm breath tickling your ear. He placed a kiss on your cheek.
“Mmhm. Morning.” You groaned softly, rubbing your eyes. Your brows were furrowed together as you propped yourself up on one elbow. “Are you trying to blind me?”
“What? Oh! Ah, no. No. That wasn’t the idea.” He chuckled softly and looked over to the window that he had just opened the blinds to. “I just thought that perhaps a little morning sun was the best way to start the day off.”
You were finally able to open your eyes and get a look at him. He was sitting on the edge of the bed, a smile on his lips and an energetic twinkle in his eye.
“Would you like breakfast? I’ve got it ready and made downstairs. It’s waiting for us.” He stood up and moved quickly towards the door. He spoke so fast that you almost couldn’t understand him, but thankfully the decade you had spent living with the vampire allowed for you to learn to understand his fast spoken dialect.
“Regis, give me just a moment, darling.” You giggled softly.
He paused by the door, brows drawing together as he looked back at you.
“What is it, my dear?”
“I haven’t even gotten dressed yet or done my hair. What’s the rush for?”
Regis stood there for a moment, biting the inside of his cheek. He didn’t want his surprise to be ruined. He was absolutely terrible at keeping surprises from you.
“There’s no rush, my dear.” He shook his head, chuckling. “Just…. Just one of those fidgety moods. Too much energy and nowhere for it to go.”
“Did you sleep at all last night?” You tilted your head to the side a little.
“For a bit, yes. But that isn’t important. Let’s find you an outfit. Is today a trousers day or would you rather a dress?” He moved towards your wardrobe.
“I think I want to wear a dress today.” You clambered out of bed. “You can pick out which one.”
“You know which one I’ll pick.”
“The black one with the gray pattern.” You nodded. “I like that one.”
“I think it looks absolutely marvelous on you.”
“That’s what you say about everything I wear.” A grin tugged at the corner of your lips as he approached you with the dress in hand.
“Well, I’m only being honest.” He placed a kiss on your lips. “I’ll help you get dressed. There’s far too many laces on this one.”
“I think that’s why you like this dress so much.” You rolled your eyes playfully.

After you were dressed and your hair was plaited back out of your eyes, you and Regis walked hand and hand to the kitchen.
“Oh, Regis.”
“What, darling?” He looked over at you.
You were too busy looking at the table of food he had prepared. There were pancakes and muffins, sausage and bacon, biscuits and jam, and fruits of all different kinds.
“Are we supposed to eat all of this?” You asked, furrowing your brows together.
“Well…. I wanted to do something special for you since last year I was busy with Dettlaff.” He squeezed your hand. “But don’t worry, none of it will go to waste. The wolves will be over in a bit. They need help with some sort of elixir. Come sit, I have something else.”
With his hand on the small of your back, Regis guided you over to the table. He pulled out a chair for you and then sat down next to you.
“I love you and you know how silly I think these little celebrations are.” He brushed his thumb along your knuckles. “I don’t need a single day to remind you how much I love you. I think I tell you enough every other day of the year.”
“You do.” You giggled, nodding your head. Your chest swelled with warmth. You knew he didn’t like your little “human” holidays like Valentine’s Day, but knowing he did it for you made it so much more special. “But I do appreciate this, Regis. I appreciate the effort. It means a lot to me.”
Regis smiled at you. He dipped his head down to kiss your knuckles.
“I saw something in a shop in Beauclair a while back. I’ve been saving it for a special occasion and I knew this would be the perfect time.” He let your hand go and reached into his pocket to fish out a black velvet box.
“Oh, Regis. But I didn’t get you anything.” You frowned.
“Don’t worry about it, my dear. I need nothing from you but your presence alone.” Regis assured you. He opened the box and presented to you a marvelous tear drop shaped ruby pendant on a gold necklace. “I know you like to match your jewelry with your clothes and I know it doesn’t match your dress so I won’t put it on you right-,”
“I want to wear it.” You cut him off, eyes flickering up to meet his. “Please?”
A smile pulled at his lips.
“Of course, dear. It is yours.”
Regis stood up and moved around to stand behind your chair. He carefully removed the necklace from the box so he could put the necklace on you.
The metal was cool against your skin and made you shiver. You looked down to try to get a look at the ruby that rested on your chest.
“Regis, it’s absolutely gorgeous.”
“Do you like it? I was afraid you wouldn’t.”
“Silly man. I love it.” You picked the ruby up between your index and thumb.
“I’m glad.” He leaned over to kiss your temple. You turned your head to catch his lips in a soft kiss.
“I’ll find you something. Don’t worry.” You held his gaze, smiling.
“Don’t worry over it.” Regis patted your knee. “I don’t need anything but you.”
You hummed, letting him think he won. He was a stubborn man and would bicker with you for days.
“Now, let’s eat before the boys get here and demolish everything.”
“Are they staying for dinner?” You asked. “It would be lovely to have dinner with them.”
“Well, I would think so. I don’t imagine what I’m working on with them would be something that gets done in a few hours.”
You nodded, picking up a strawberry and taking a bite.
“I’ll run into town after they get here and get things for dinner.”
Hay this might be a rough request, but I am a complete mess rn so this is definitely about me haha. But could you maybe do something for Regis with a Reader who's falling for him, but has struggle to let people inside her life as she's been abused mentally as long as she can thinks and as she's having a breakdown Regis finds her and she's about to confess what she feels for the higher vampire but is scares to be hurt? - 🦊
If you don't want to write this just let me know. ❤️
A/N: hi babe I won’t bombard too much but if you ever need anything my box is open or you can DM me

You were sitting alone at a table in a large room with Kaer Morhen that you declared to be the dining room. You were preparing dinner, making enough for all of the boys should they return. Vesemir was off tinkering with some ladder he’d been talking about all week. Apparently it needed to be repaired.
You hissed as the blade of your knife slipped and caught the inside of your thumb. The knife was abandoned at the table as blood started to steadily seep from the wound. You used your skirt - dirty at the hem from tending to the goats earlier in the day - to stop the bleeding.
“Damn bastard.” You cursed, glaring down at the knife.
“What did I do already?” Lambert teased as he crossed the room. You didn’t realize he had even walked in until he spoke. You jumped and turned your head to him, smiling.
“Hi, Lambert! How was the journey?”
“Shitty and long, as usual.” He took a seat at the table with you. “Anybody here with you?”
“Vesemir arrived late last week.” You nodded. “Geralt, Ciri, and Jaskier are here with Regis and Dettlaff. Yennefer keeps popping in and out whenever she wants. Have you heard from Eskel?”
“A while ago.” He picked up a strawberry from a bowl on the table. “Ran into him in Aedd Gynvael about three weeks back. Said he had an archgriffin contract to finish up and then he was gonna head here. Figured he’d be here already.”
You nodded, letting your skirt fall back into place. The bleeding had stopped but it burned.
You moved over to the pot of soup hanging over the fire. It was bubbling nicely.
“Is this winter gonna be the winter where you tell Regis?”
You turned your head to look at Lambert. He moved towards you, wanting to inspect what you were cooking. He was always very cautious about eating anything someone else made for him. You remembered him telling you a story of one of the few times he let Geralt cook. Apparently everyone in the keep got food poisoning.
“Tell…. Tell Regis what?” You asked quietly, brows furrowing together.
“That you fancy him.” Lambert rolled his eyes at the word. It was very, very rare for him to like someone as quickly as he took a liking to you. You’d heard Eskel say something to Geralt about how Lambert knew what it was like to grow up in an unsafe home, that you both shared similar upbringings prior to his arrival at Kaer Morhen. You never asked the young wolf about it, never wanting to pick at old wounds.
“Don’t play stupid, Y/N.”
You flinched at the name but Lambert didn’t notice. He had moved away towards the table where you had been cutting up potatoes. You knew he meant nothing by it, but you couldn’t help your stomach twisting up into knots.
“You know we all can see how you swoon every time he’s in the same room as you.”
“Can you keep it down a little, Lambert?” You asked him, messing with your skirt as you went to the table. “I-I don’t want him knowing.”
“Why not?” Lambert looked up at you. “You want me to help you with the potatoes? You’ll lose a finger at the rate you’re going.” He nodded to your hand. You had more than a couple knicks on your hands and fingers. You weren’t the best at using a knife, but you tried your best.
“Please.” You nodded softly. Your eyes followed Lambert as he went over to the wash basin to clean his hands. “I…. just don’t think it’d be wise of me to do that. To…. To put myself in that position.”
“I don’t blame you.” Lambert sighed, drying his hands off on a towel. “Opening up to people sucks ass.”
You smiled a little.
“How’s Aiden doing, by the way?” You tilted your head to the side a little as you sat down across from the wolf. “Is he coming this winter?”
“Said he might.” Lambert muttered. “Probably won’t show up until the middle of a snow storm or something stupid.”
You admired the witcher for loving someone, and you were a little jealous.
You chewed on your bottom lip, looking down at the three little cuts on your fingers.
“What are you thinking about?” Lambert asked, keeping his voice low.
“Nothing.” You answered a little too quickly.
“I can see the steam coming out of your ears, kid. This is one of those rare times I ask you what you’ve got going on inside that head of yours. The polite thing would be for you to take advantage of that.”
Your eyes flickered up to meet his yellow gaze.
“How…. How do you do it, Lambert?” You brushed a few pieces of hair behind your ears. “How do you let yourself get like that? Become vulnerable for Aiden? I-I mean, I can’t even comfortably open up to Geralt or Eskel and I’ve known them for the better half of a decade. Sometimes…. Sometimes it’s hard opening up to you even and we’ve known each other how long?”
“Feels like a lifetime.” He sighed, nodding his head. Lambert had met you years ago when a chort had invaded your village. “Uh, it’s hard, kid. Really hard. But you just…. If you really like someone, you’ve gotta let it happen.”
You looked down at the table, your fingers brushing over markings in the wood.
“Yeah, I get it. But you…. You’re a witcher.” You couldn’t bring yourself to look up at him. “If…. If Aiden were to get…. If he were to be, um, harmful to you…. You could stop him.”
Lambert stopped cutting the potatoes and looked across the table at you as realization hit him.
“Regis is stronger than you. That’s what you’re afraid of.”
You nodded, biting your bottom lip.
“I know no amount of me telling you this will help, but Regis isn’t that kind of guy.” Lambert shook his head. “He’d never….” The wolf trailed off, unable to complete the sentence. “And you know Geralt wouldn’t associate with someone like that.”
You nodded your head and opened your mouth to speak when Ciri, Dettlaff, Regis, and Geralt walked in. Your eyes darted to Lambert, who very briefly met your gaze before looking over at the small group. You moved away from the table as everyone started to sit down. You went to the fire to check on the soup.
“I was just telling Y/N here that I heard from Eskel a few weeks ago. He should be here any day now.”
“Good.” Geralt sighed, taking a seat at the table.
“Y/N? Do you need help with anything, dear?” Regis asked.
You looked over your shoulder to him, your voice caught in your throat as your heart started to beat a little faster.
“Erm, I-I think we’ve- Lambert and I have everything under control.” You looked over to Lambert, who didn’t look at you. You knew he’d never tell anyone about your feelings towards the Higher Vampire, but you couldn’t help feeling that maybe he would. Your trust had been violated by those you thought the world of before.
***
Later on that evening after everyone ate their fill of soup and helped clean the kitchen, you retreated to the library. The entire night it felt like you were tense and on edge. You weren’t too sure what it was, but it probably had something to do with the fact that Regis had sat beside you the whole evening and tried multiple times to engage in conversation with you. You did your best to keep the conversations going, but it wasn’t easy. That voice in the back of your head kept telling you that you needed to shut up before he realized that you were into him.
You got a book and sat down in your favorite chair. It was large and comfy and rested close to the fireplace so you could stay warm.
You tried to focus on the book, to immerse yourself in the story, but it just wasn’t working. Your mind was going a million miles a second and you couldn’t gain control of your thoughts. Your lungs couldn’t pull in enough oxygen. You felt dizzy and nauseous at the same time.
The book was placed down on the table next to you and you leaned forward, your elbows on your knees and your hands over your face.
You tried counting to make the invasive feelings go away, but that didn’t work. You tried to stop thinking about everything that could go wrong if you were to tell Regis of how you felt, but that didn’t work either.
Warm hands touched the back of your hands, making you flinch. You pulled your hands away from your face to see Regis kneeling before you.
You sucked in a sharp breath, sitting back in your seat to put space between you two. Your hands found the arms of the chair, gripping them tightly.
“Are you okay, dear?” Regis asked you, brows furrowed together in concern.
You sniffled pitifully and wiped your cheeks with your sleeves.
“I-I’m-I’m fine, Regis.”
“What’s gotten you so upset?” He tilted his head to the side a little.
You shook your head, unable to answer him.
He stood to his feet, messing with a buckle to his jacket.
“I’ll leave, if you’d like some space.”
“No!” You shouted, even though you didn’t mean to. You turned your head away from him, closing your eyes tightly. You needed to tell him. You needed to get it out. Maybe that was why you felt like you were going to explode, because you needed to tell him how you felt. “Please…. Please stay.”
He retrieved a chair from one of the tables and pulled it over to you. Regis kept his distance though, not wanting to invade your space.
You opened your eyes but you couldn’t turn your head to look at him. There was nothing but silence as he waited patiently for you to speak.
“I’m-I’m sorry you.... That I raised my voice at you.” You whispered, your voice weak and broken.
“There’s no need to apologize, my dear.” He assured you. The way he spoke to you so gently, so softly, nearly made your heart melt.
You brought your eyes down to your hands, picking at your fingers. You took a deep breath, before finding your voice again.
“I-I want to…. To tell you how I feel. But I can’t.”
“Why not?” Regis didn’t sound upset with you. He didn’t sound impatient. He was calm and quiet.
Your lips pressed together in a tight line and you shook your head. You turned your head to look across the room at one of the windows. The moon was shining in, casting a rectangle of light onto the old stone floor.
“I can’t let myself…. I can’t be like that with someone. Not after what’s happened.”
If Regis didn’t have such good hearing, he wouldn’t have been able to hear what you were saying.
His heart broke hearing your voice, hearing how upset you were and how hard it was for you to get this out.
“I’ve had too-too many people in my life…. that have hurt me.” You shifted around in your seat.
Silence fell between you both. You couldn’t find the right words to add on to what you were saying, to get him to understand.
“You don’t have to do anything you aren’t comfortable with doing, my dear.” Regis’s voice was smooth like honey as he spoke to you. “I won’t pretend to know what you’ve been through, because I can’t even imagine what you’ve been through. But I need you to know that I’d never put my hands on you, Y/N. The thought of it….. It makes me sick.”
“It’s not just that, Regis.” You brought your eyes to meet his. “I-I was with a man for three years. He never hit me, but sometimes I think hitting me would’ve done less damage than his words.”
This time, Regis couldn’t hold your gaze. He couldn’t bear the look in your eyes as you tried desperately to fight back the tears. You were fearful, terrified even. He wasn’t sure if it was because of him, or something else entirely, but he couldn’t help feeling as if he was partially to cause.
You looked down at your hands.
“I-I care about you, Regis. A lot. And I can’t-I can’t stop it, as badly as I want to.”
“I care about you as well, Y/N.” Regis fought the urge to put his hand on your shoulder or on the back of your hand. Now wasn’t the time for that. “But we don’t have to act on these feelings, not if you aren’t comfortable with it.”
“It isn’t fair to you.”
Regis held his hand out for you, praying that he wasn’t overstepping. You looked down at his hand, taking note of how wide his palm was and how long a slender his fingers were. Your hand hesitantly found his, your fingertips brushing along his palm and up to his wrist.
“My dear, it isn’t fair that you’ve been with someone who didn’t treat you like the queen you are.” His grip tightened on your hand gently. “I am willing to wait as long as needed for you. If there’s never a time you are comfortable with exploring more within our relationship, then that is okay too. I just want to be here for you.”
You nodded your head, smiling a little. Your heart raced in your chest, but this was a good racing. You didn’t feel sick.
“You’re so sweet, Regis. I-I want to hug you.”
He nodded and stood up. You did too, taking quick note of how your head barely reached his shoulders as his long arms wrapped around you tightly. You buried your nose into his chest, closing your eyes.
“Thank you, Regis.” Your words were muffled against him. “I know I’m not the easiest to be around sometimes.”
“Oh nonsense, my dear. You are an absolute treasure.” Regis murmured against your hair.
“Can you…. maybe…. read to me? Like you did last winter?” You kept your face in his chest, afraid to face him in case he said no.
“I’d like nothing more than to read to you, my dear.”
If you're still looking for fluff and softness, might I request something for Regis? Maybe some potion making/cooking together? Just gimme that vampire sugar lmao
A/N: This is exactly the kind of thing I needed babe. I’m soft. This has no plot but it is fluffy! I hope that’s okay <3
***
Outside, a thin layer of white snow dusted the ground.
Regis was standing at the table, eyes flickering over a page in a book. He was making some sort of elixir for a bad cough. Someone in the village had come down with a sickness and he immediately offered to help.
Perched on his shoulder was Calder, a black raven. He let out a scratchy caw and flew down from Regis’s shoulder to rest on the floor in front of you.
You were laying on your stomach a few feet away from him, sketching on a piece of parchment.
“Hello, love.” You smiled at Calder, reaching out to gently pet his head. He flapped his wings and started to move closer to you. But the three baby crows Regis rescued came running towards you, squawking loudly. Calder, irritated with his younger siblings, flapped his wings and went back to Regis. The crows settled with climbing along your arms and onto your back.
You looked up from your drawing to inspect Regis.
A soft smile pulled at the corners of his lips as his eyes flickered up to meet yours.
“What are you staring at, dear?”
“Just want to make sure I get your cheeks right.”
He leaned forward over the table, trying to sneak a peek at what you were doing but you quickly covered the parchment with the big sleeves to the long sleeve you wore.
“You’re cheating!”
“Cheating?” Regis chuckled, resting back on his heels. His eyes fell back to his book but that amused grin still stayed there.
“Yes, cheating! This is a surprise.” You told him.
“How is it a surprise if I know you are drawing me?”
You scowled.
“Oh, darling. Don’t give me that look.” He tilted his head to the side a little, eyes watching you. “I was only asking.”
“You don’t know how I’ll draw it.” You pointed out. “Quit looking!”
He shook his head, grinning as he looked at his book.
The three baby crows left you, choosing instead to chase your housecat, Marlow.
“I could use an extra hand or two.” He hummed, not daring to look away from his book this time in fear of catching a glance at your artwork. If you wanted it to be a surprise, he wouldn’t ruin it, no matter how badly he wanted to look.
“Okay.” You finished shading in the area beneath one of his eyes and then moved the parchment to the end of the table that Regis wasn’t working on. You made sure it was turned over so that he wouldn’t see the drawing.
You moved around to peer over Regis’s shoulder, though it was more like you were peeking around than over. He was much taller than you.
“What are you making?”
“I am trying something out for Master Baxter. He has a nasty cough. I could hear the congestion in his chest this morning. It sounded awful.”
Your eyes looked to the book he was reading out of. Your brows drew together.
“This isn’t in Common Speech.” You moved to stand beside him, turning the page to see if there was a translation that you understood.
“It’s an ancient dialect long forgotten.” Regis looked over to you. “My parents would speak it to each other. My mother taught me some of it. Later on in life, I taught myself.”
“How sweet.” You brought your hand up to his shoulder. “But how am I supposed to know what this recipe calls for when I can’t read it?”
“You allow me to translate it for you.” He leaned down to kiss your forehead. “And perhaps I can teach you if you’d like.”
You looked up at him, something in your chest fluttering. The thought of Regis teaching you a language from his childhood made your insides warm.
You nodded your head, smiling as you dropped your gaze to the book once more.
“Is that a yes? You’d like me to teach you?” He hooked his finger underneath your chin and tilted your head up.
“Yes.” You leaned forward to kiss him softly. “But perhaps teaching me while you are also doing alchemy isn’t a great idea. What if I mess something up?”
“I wouldn’t let you do anything that would harm Master Baxter.” Regis shook his head, his hand moving around to hold the back of your head. Gently, he pulled your head forward and he leaned down to kiss your forehead. “I love you.”
“I love you.” Your eyes fluttered shut and you leaned into him.
Regis pulled away as Marlow jumped up onto the table, successfully escaping the three baby crows.
“Marlow!” You picked him up. He seeked refuge on your shoulders, meowing loudly as he looked down at the crows. “We don’t want you messing up…. whatever it is Regis is working on.”
The vampire chuckled, turning back to read a passage in the book.
You placed Marlow in a chair in the main room before returning to Regis. He was stirring a dark liquid in a glass.
You wrapped your arms around him from behind, resting your head between his shoulder blades.
“Instead of working on this, why don’t we go to bed?” You suggested. “It’s getting awfully late.”
“The sun went down just a little while ago.” Regis said. “And I’m almost done with this. But if you helped me, perhaps it would be done sooner.”
You sighed, feigning disappointment, and moved around him to lean against the table.
“What do you want me to do?”
“Hand me the elderflowers sitting at the end of the table, please.” He nodded in the direction of the ingredient he needed.
“What will this do?” You asked, moving around the table to get what he needed.
“It will make Master Baxter sweat. Sweating will help cool him down, and rid him of his fever.” Regis took the plant from you but not before pressing a kiss to your forehead. “Thank you, my love.”
You smiled.
As he crushed the flower with a mortar and pestle, you curiously looked around the table.
“What’s this?” You asked, picking up a jar with a mysterious thick liquid. “Is it honey?”
“Precisely! It’s used to soothe a sore throat. The lemon slice in there is for helping with congestion. It’s for Master Baxter’s wife to make tea with. There’s a few extra ingredients in there as well to help with his discomfort.”
You put the jar down and moved on to the next item. It was a ginger root.
“What does this do?” You asked, holding the root up.
“It can relieve nausea or any pain Master Baxter may be experiencing. It’s ginger root.”
“I know what it is.” You stuck your tongue out at him playfully. He smiled, looking back down at the vial in his hand.
“Would you mind cutting a piece off for me, love? I need to grind it up to put into this.” He tapped the vial with his index finger.
“Can I grind it up?” You reached across the table for the knife.
“If you’d like.” Regis nodded.
You cut off a slice of the ginger root. He passed you the mortar and pestle, then watched you grind it up.
You could feel his eyes on you and for some reason, it made you nervous. You looked up at him through your lashes.
“Why are you watching me?”
“I find it hard to look away when there’s such a beautiful being in front of me.”
“You’re such a charmer.” You grinned a little, though your cheeks flushed.
“I am just simply stating the truth.”
Once you finished grinding the plant, you passed the mortar to Regis.
“Excellent job, dear.” He praised, scraping the ground up ginger out of the bowl with a spoon.
As he put a few things into the vial, you moved to stand next to him. Your arm slipped around his lean waist, squeezing his hip.
“Darling, don’t be a distraction.” He winked at you, just teasing.
“I can’t help it.” You leaned against him a little more than you really needed to, but the vampire was sturdy and strong. He was capable of supporting you as you leaned in to his side. “I just really wanna lay down and cuddle with you.”
“How about we make a deal?” He turned to face you. “How much more of that drawing do you have to do?”
“Just some finishing touches.” You shrugged your shoulders, gazing up at him.
“When you finish the drawing, I’ll come to bed with you.”
You pouted.
“Regis! That’s not fair! What if it takes me forever to finish?”
“Then I fear I will have to wait forever to lay next to you again, my dear.” He turned back to his work, his tone gentle and playful.
You huffed and moved to pick up the parchment you were drawing on.
“Fine.”
You returned to the floor, eager to get the drawing finished.
***
You jolted awake, eyes opening to find Regis kneeling down in front of you.
“You fell asleep, darling.” He brushed his fingers over your hair. “I just wanted to make sure you were okay. It seemed sudden. One second, you were focused on the drawing and the next, you were out cold.”
You lifted your head up, rubbing your eyes and yawning. You didn’t remember being so tired that you would pass out.
Suddenly, you remembered the drawing.
“Regis! The picture!”
“Don’t worry, my dear.” He spoke calmly, his voice soothing. “I didn’t look at it, but I did pick it up. I didn’t want the crows to mess it up.”
You sighed in relief, rolling over on to your back.
“Are you ready to go to bed?” Regis asked. You nodded and lifted your arms up, wanting him to carry you to bed.
He scooped you up in his arms and effortlessly stood up.
“I love you, my dear.” He reminded you, pressing a warm kiss to your forehead.
“Love you more.” You sleepily tucked your nose into the front of his neck.
“Oh, I don’t think that’s possible.” He pushed the door to the bedroom open with his shoulder. “I love you more than anything in this world, more than anyone could love another being.”
“Lies.” Your words were muffled against his warm skin. “I love you more than that.”
“Oh? Is that so?”
“Mhm.”
You were placed carefully down on the bed. Regis started to move away but you grabbed his arm, keeping him close to your bedside.
“No, Regis. Stay.” You frowned, giving him your best puppy eyes.
“I just have to put a little more wood on the fire.” He nodded to the hearth at the foot of the bed. “I will be right back. I promise.”
You nodded and let him go. While he was tending to the fire, you pulled the blankets over you and settled in.
A few moments later, Regis was joining you.
He slipped into the bed next to you. Once you were sure he was comfortable, you scooted closer to him, curling yourself up against his side. Your head rested on his shoulder. His arm snaked around you, holding you close to him.
“Good night, my dear.” He pressed a kiss to the top of your head.
could i request a soft fic with regis?🥺 would you be able to write about him and the reader having a lazy morning w cuddling?
A/N: Since I’m not too sure about higher vampire mating and spawning or whatever, we are gonna pretend they have kids just like humans.
Warnings: There’s just some mentioning of starting a family but this is pure fluff
***
Fingers moved carefully through your hair, pulling you from your pleasant sleep. Before you even opened your eyes, you could hear Regis humming softly behind you.
You scooted back so that you were as close to him as possible, your back against his chest and your knees bent with his.
“Good morning, darling.” His warm breath tickled your neck.
“Mhmm. Not yet.” You groaned. You tucked your nose further into the pillow, trying to find the will to go back to sleep.
Regis shifted around a little, sliding his knee between both of yours. His arm snaked around your hips, his large hand resting on your stomach.
“I can go start breakfast.” He offered. “That way when you wake up again, it’ll be ready.”
You were quiet for a few moments before sighing and turning over to face him. You rubbed your eyes before opening them.
“Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be able to go back to sleep. But maybe a nap later….”
“You’ve only just woken up and you’re already thinking about a nap?” He chuckled, brushing pieces of your hair back out of your face.
You smiled, nodding a little. He leaned forward to kiss your temple, his hand rubbing your hip.
“Get dressed, darling. I’ll start breakfast.”
“Thank you.”
You watched him get out of bed and leave through the door.
You groaned and stretched before reluctantly getting out of bed. You decided to put on one of Regis’s dark gray tops and a pair of your comfy trousers.
The floorboards were cold beneath your feet, creaking with your weight.

After breakfast, you helped Regis to clean up the kitchen.
He returned to sitting at the table, sipping on tea and reading a book. You moved behind his chair, arms wrapping around his shoulders. You rested your chin on his shoulder.
“We should go back to bed.” You told him, pressing kisses to the side of his neck.
“Are you really that tired?” He asked, turning his head to look at you. You kissed his lips.
“Just want to lay with you.”
“Can I read to you?”
“Yes. I like the sound of your voice.”
“Okay.” He closed the book.
You stood up, a smile crossing your lips. He held his hand out for you. You put your hand in his and walked with him back to the bedroom.
He got into bed first, sitting up a little against the headboard. You climbed into bed after him, settling between his legs with your head resting on his thigh. He held the book in one hand and used his other hand to comb through your hair.
“Hey, Regis?”
“Yes, my love?”
You fell quiet for a few moments, tracing shapes into his thigh.
“Would you…. Do you think we could ever…. You know…. Have kids?”
Regis put his book down and brought his attention to you. You couldn’t meet his gaze. Your heart was racing and you felt your stomach twist up. What if he said no? What if asking him had been a bad choice? What if this ruined everything? What if he doesn’t want kids?
“Y/N, you can’t just spring that question on me and act as if nothing’s happened.” He spoke softly. “Sit up, darling.”
You chewed on the inside of your cheek as you sat up on your knees. You were still between his legs. Your eyes focused on your hands.
Regis leaned forward a little, two fingers slipping beneath your chin. He tilted your head up so you had no choice but to look at him. His eyes were soft and glossy. A smile spread on his lips.
“My love, I want nothing more than to have a family with you.”
You were sure your heart skipped a beat.
You hugged him tightly, wrapping your arms beneath his underarms. He cradled your head to his chest, pressing kisses to your hair.
“I love you.”
“As I love you, my darling.” He hummed softly, rubbing your back.
OMFG IM SO SORRY TO BOTHER YOU WITH THIS WHILE YOURE IN A WRITING PAUSE BECAUSE I DONT WANT YOU TO THINK THAT YOU HAVE TO WRITE THIS BUT IF I DONT TELL THEN I WONT REMEMBER😫:
I saw one of your recent reblogs with the little bats and you mentioned getting it tattooed. So my brain came up with this idea that I find ✨adorable✨. Do you remember when we were talking about how in a modern AU, Regis would be like a sophisticated older man, but he would be tatted up? Ok so imagine him and reader being in a relationship for a good long while, and he at one point told her that he really thinks through his tattoos before he gets them done and puts a bunch of thought and feeling into each one. So as a gift during a milestone in the relationship, he says that he wants to get a matching tattoo with them, and they can help choose some ideas, and the reader recommends the two little bats because 1. Cute, and 2. She Knows about what he is and wants to show their love for him?
Im so sorry this is super detailed and I know your busy but I had to share because I thought you’d appreciate it🥺💕love ya dear!❤️—🍯
A/N: I needed to distract myself from rdr2 so this is what happened. and I’m not even gonna lie. I am seriously thinking of having someone commission Regis with tattoos…...

You hummed quietly as you moved around the room, gathering what dishes had been left on the table and placing them into the wash basin. You didn’t get very far before hands were on your hips, stopping you from moving, and a warm breath was brushing across your neck.
“Darling, I told you I’d get these when I returned. Dettlaff just needed a moment to chat before he left.”
“I know.” You looked over your shoulder to Regis. He kissed your temple and tried to gently move you aside but you refused to move so easily. “No! I’m already here and I’m already cleaning it up. It’s almost done-,”
“Then there’s no harm in letting me finish it, is there?” He raised his brows.
“Regis-,”
“My darling, you are so stubborn.” He gave you another kiss to the temple. “Just let me help you.”
Using a little more strength on you than what he’d usually like to, he was able to move you aside and start picking up the wine glasses from the table.
You huffed and hurried around the table to try to get the last two cups on the other side, but Regis beat you there, using his vampiric powers to teleport himself there. What he didn’t count on, however, was you bumping into him. This caused him to spill the remnants in the wine glass all over himself and on your dress.
You gasped, your hands coming up to cover your mouth. Regis laughed, moving to place the glasses with the rest of the dirty dishes.
“Regis, I’m so sorry-,”
“No worries, darling.” He cut you off, shaking his head. “No worries at all. It’s just clothes. Clothes can wash.”
He took off his doublet and put it over the back of a chair, then he began to unbutton his undershirt. You went to help him, gently nudging his fingers away so you could work on the buttons yourself.
“I don’t mind doing the cleaning.” You spoke softly, looking up at him through your lashes. “Especially when Dettlaff is here. I know he has a hard time sometimes. With…. With just….”
“He struggles fitting in sometimes.” Regis sighed gently. His eyes fell to watch your nimble fingers. “But he will be okay. He’s always okay.”
“You just worry about him.” You finished unbuttoning the shirt and looked up at his face. “It’s a shame he wouldn’t stay here a bit longer.”
“He didn’t want to invade- which I told him was rather silly.” Regis shrugged out of the undershirt and put it over the same chair the doublet was on. You watched him move, admiring the way his muscles moved beneath ivory skin.
He had a number of tattoos across his back, including a large moth that spread across the top of his shoulders and a skull that rested at the small of his back.
“But he insisted. Saying some nonsense about it being our fifteenth anniversary.” Regis continued to talk, though you were too caught up admiring his tattoos to really listen.
He turned back around to face you, wondering why you weren’t saying anything.
Your eyes immediately darted up to his face upon realizing he had caught you staring.
“I, uh, I was, erm-,”
“Staring?” He grinned, tilting his head to the side a bit.
“Well, yes.” You admitted, feeling your cheeks get hot. “But I-I was also thinking…. Fifteen years?” You repeated, almost in disbelief.
“Fifteen years.” Regis confirmed. He nodded his head, closing the space between you two. “Seems like just yesterday you stole something very important from me.”
The corners of your lips turned up as he approached you. You couldn’t help but step back until you bumped into the counter. Your heart was racing, thumping against your chest. It was the most wonderful feeling to have your heart race the same way it did when you first met him all those years ago.
“What did I steal from you?” You tilted your head back to look up at him properly.
His long and slender fingers trailed along the side of your throat then your jaw until he reached your chin. His thumb carefully traced your bottom lip.
“My heart.” His breath was warm as it fanned across your face.
You giggled. Your eyes left his, trailing down to the moon tattooed over his heart. You brought your hand up to trace over the black ink just as you had done numerous times before.
“Fifteen years.” You whispered.
Regis took your hand and brought it up to his lips, kissing your knuckles. Then he leaned down to kiss your forehead.
“Let’s get this mess cleaned up, darling. I’ve got something I’d like to discuss with you.” He began to pull away without any further explanation, leaving you a little worried.
“Oh, okay.” You nodded your head. “Um, is it-is it anything I should be concerned about?”
“Oh, Heavens no.” Regis shook his head, moving back to you to give you another kiss on the forehead. “I’m sorry to have worried you. But it’s nothing that you need to worry about. Just something I want to discuss.”
***
Regis climbed into bed to get comfy while you finished braiding your hair at your vanity. After the braid was finished, you moved around to your side of the bed. You clambered across the mattress until you reached him. Instead of laying down, you leaned against his hip, curling your legs up beside you.
“What do you want to discuss?” You asked. You picked up his hand and decided to examine the tattoos on the back of his hand and his fingers rather than look at him.
“Well, I know today marks the day of our anniversary so I’d be a little late for it, but I want to do something for our fifteen years. Something that isn’t just dinner with Dettlaff and a romantic night in.” Regis watched you curiously as you looked his tattoos over. It fascinated him how you were always so captivated by his tattoos even though you knew every single one he had.
“Do you have something in mind?”
“Mhm. A tattoo.”
Your eyes flickered up to meet his almost instantly. Your lips parted and Regis could hear your heart start to beat quicker.
“Oh, Regis. That’s-That isn’t a good idea.” You shook your head.
“Why?” He sat up, propping himself up on one elbow. “I’ve given it plenty of thought. Marriage isn’t an option, it’s not something either of us want.”
“But that doesn’t mean you should get something permanent like a tattoo for our anniversary on your body, Regis.” You shook your head. “What if we aren’t…. What if we aren’t permanent?”
“My darling, there has never been a time in our fifteen years that I have ever thought I’d want to be with someone else.” Regis sat up all the way and reached out to cup your cheek. “And if there would ever come a time when I no longer had you, I’d seek out someone willing to liquidize me again. I don’t want to be without you, Y/N. I love you.”
You searched his eyes, your hand coming up to hold the back of his that rested on your cheek.
“You’ve thought it through?”
“I have.” He nodded firmly, pulling his hand away from your face. “I’ve thought it through plenty. It’ll be a bat. And I want it here on the inside of my wrist, just above my pulse.” He turned his arm over to show you the bare skin on his forearm. You brushed your fingertips over the spot, pressing gently until you could feel his pulse beating firmly beneath.
A smile tugged at the corners of your lips. He wanted to do this as an act of commitment to you. As if he hadn’t proven his commitment before. You both had rings from your tenth anniversary and necklaces from your fifth. Now, he was getting a tattoo.
“I want one too.”
Regis’s eyes widened as he lifted his head to meet your gaze.
“Darling, you don’t have to.”
“I know.” You nodded softly. “I want to.”
“Where do you think you’d want it?”
You thought about it for a moment, looking down over your arms and then your torso.
“Perhaps my ribs. The left side. Your heart is bigger on the left, isn’t it?”
“It is.”
“That’s where I want it.” You stated proudly, rubbing your side through your chemise.
“If it is what you want, my darling, but please don’t feel like you have to.” Regis shook his head softly.
“I want it, Regis. It’s a really nice and-and a really beautiful idea.” You clasped your hands together in your lap, but they didn’t stay there for very long. Regis took them and held them in his own.
“Why do you want it there?”
“You have my heart.” You answered softly. “It’s yours. You protect it.”
He smiled at you, leaning forward to kiss your cheek.
i just thought of how cute it would be to just cuddle w regis and stargaze like🥺🥺 if you could write something with that i would be eternally happy omg -🔮

Regis led the way through the cemetery, holding your hand even as you trailed behind him.
The night was lively. The sounds of the crickets and katydids. A chorus of frogs chirped from the creek that ran along the outside of the cemetery. An owl hooted from somewhere in the treetops.
The moon, full and bright, shined down through the canopy, offering little flecks of light here and there. You could see well, but that was only due to the fact that there were torches lit throughout the cemetery. You were sure that Regis had something to do with that.
“Where are we going?” You asked, curious to know why he had dragged you out to a cemetery at nearly midnight. “You’re not going to kill me, are you?” You teased.
“Not in the slightest, no.” He chucked just a little, slowing down so he could walk alongside you. “I’d never dream of hurting you.” He brought your clasped hands up so he could kiss the back of your knuckles.
You smiled softly at him.
He took you beyond the trees of the cemetery to the little opening that rested between the cemetery and the forest.
With the help of the moon, you could see a blanket laying in the grass, as well as a bottle of what you presumed to be wine.
“Oh, Regis.” You squeezed his hand.
“I thought you’d like this.” He explained, stopping at the edge of the blanket to kiss your forehead. “You’ve always said you enjoy looking at the stars. If I remember correctly, you said you’d like to learn the constellations, isn’t that right?”
“Yes.” You nodded, biting your bottom lip in an attempt to hide the huge smile that tried to come out.
“Well, while I couldn’t sleep for the last few nights, I’ve been reading different books from all over the Continent on stars and the likes. I’d say I’m pretty well versed in astrology now.”
“So humble.” You giggled softly, teasing him.
“I can teach you, if you’d like.” Regis offered, eyes gazing at you.
“I’d love that, Regis.” You nodded enthusiastically.
He motioned for you to get down on the blanket.
You slipped off your boots and sat down on the blanket, then laid back to look at the stars. Regis followed your actions, laying down next to you. You scooted a little closer to him, taking his hand and lacing your fingers together.
He began to point out constellations in the sky and tell you the names of the stars that it consisted of. Then he’d point to locations in the sky where planets could be seen. He seemed just as fascinated as you were by the night sky, and he was eager to share his knowledge with you.
As he started a little story about how one of the stars got its name, you turned your head to look at him.
It amazed you that this brilliant, handsome nerd was yours. That you were lucky enough to have him, to love him. He had such a gentle soul and truly wanted the best for nearly everyone he crossed.
Regis felt you staring at him and paused his story, turning his head to meet your gaze.
“Is something the matter, darling?”
“No.” You answered softly, leaning over to kiss his cheek. “Everything is perfect. This is perfect, Regis. Thank you.”
“Anything for you, my love.”
You stayed out there underneath the stars for hours. Regis eventually ran out of constellations to tell you about, but that didn’t stop him from talking. He started to tell you of how whenever he was a child, his mother would stargaze with him through a window in their home. That led to other stories from his childhood.
You were mostly silent, soaking up everything he had to say. But as the night drew on, you became sleepy. You struggled to stay awake, and Regis knew this.
Eventually, you fell asleep with your head on his shoulder. His arm was wrapped firmly around you, holding you close to his body.
A little while later, he picked you up and carried you back to your home.
As he was laying you down in bed, you stirred a little. Your hands clutched at his arms, not wanting him to let you go.
“Regis.” You groaned softly.
“Right here, love.” He leaned down to kiss your forehead.
“Stay. Please?” Your eyes opened, lids heavy with sleep.
“Of course.”
Regis climbed into the bed behind you and settled there, lanky arms wrapping firmly around you.
