Logan Howlett Regressor Headcanons!
(For the purpose of these headcanons, we're gonna pretend this is the same version of Logan that later meets Deadpool)
Goodness he is a grumpy little. Not much changes between his adult self and his little self, other than the fact that he fusses more as a little
Regresses between six and two, feeling younger the more stressed he is
Due to his regeneration power, he plays HARD, not minding the scratches and bruises since they heal instantly
Occasionally though, if he gets hurt without expecting it, it can startle him into getting teary and quiet, since he rarely cries
He doesn't have a caregiver (until he meets Wade), since he'd rather literally anything else other than tell anyone he regresses, especially since he's been around so long, he's internalized a lot of shame around it (poor baby)
His claws still come out when he's startled, but he might actually cry when this happens
He gets kind of spacey, especially if he feels safe enough to let his guard down. His brain recognizes it can 'turn off' safely so he spaces out unless he has something to keep himself busy (this one is a self projection, I do this)
He has only one comfort item and that's a blanket he's kept since the 1800s. Or at least what's left of it. It's basically just a small, tattered, gray cloth that used to be blue at one point. He won't wash it, worried it'll fall apart, so he keeps it in a box to preserve it
After he meets Wade
After spending so much time with Wade, Logan kind of knew he wouldn't judge him, especially since he's so weird, himself. It's still very hard to tell him, but he manages
Wade already knows what age regression is, he's been on nearly every corner of the internet. He's actually the one who has to explain it to Logan. "That's not something wrong with you, that's called age regression andbythewayIcanabsolutelytakecareofyou."
Wade wanted to be his caregiver from the start, but it took Logan a lot of time to even consider warming up to the idea. After a particularly stressful time regressing by himself, he finally caves and lets Wade baby him a little.. and it was the best decision he ever made, even if he won't admit it.
Wade calls him 'bubba,' and 'buddy,' he gets him a pacifier, an actual blankie that looks like his old one, and a comfortable set of pajamas he can wear so he's not stuck in jeans and a white tank top
Logan prefers pajama pants and a plain t-shirt
Logan LOVES head scratches. He doesn't acknowledge it verbally, but he will get quiet and lean into it
After Wade finds out that Logan is a chewer, he gets a bunch of replacement nibs for his pacifier, along with a couple chewy stim toys
Wade makes keeping the environment safe and stress-free his number one priority, so that Logan doesn't get startled or stressed and accidentally whip out his claws, since they hurt his hands.
If his claws do come out, Wade's pretty quick to calm him back down so they retract. Then it's all nicknames, kissing his hands to make it all better, and redirecting his attention to something else until the ouchie heals itself. "I'm sorry, Bubba, that was pretty scary, huh? Did it hurt your hands? I know buddy, it's okay. See? mwah! All better!"
Surprisingly, little Logan finds comfort in older things. The closer you can get to the 1800s, the better
He doesn't really like TV, and will prefer being read to. He likes being cooked older dishes that he would have eaten back then
Pumpkin soup, pumpkin cakes, and meat pies. The one thing he and Wade can agree on is apple pie.
Logan: Papa, I want duck pie :(
Wade: Oh my strange little boy, of course I will find a way to get you this super outdated, rare dish that no one makes anymore, anything for my Kit-kat
