these are mostly guesses that i have horribly pieced together to make some pathetic attempt of lore. i’m doing a jigsaw puzzle, but all the pieces are turned round to the cardboard side. send help.

most of my sources are from wikipedia / fandom wiki, as i was kinda in a rush to post this. when i have more time to look into the lore a bit more and research more abt greek mythology, i’ll defo post an updated version with more …reliable info, lol

— folly + mr: THEY’RE GODS BUT NOT REALLY —

folly was created by tgo, who is the god of dreams (implied in an interaction with mozelle). key word, GOD.

the reason why the cleave happened was because tgo got jealous of the fact that dreamer was becoming so powerful and learning so fast, to the point of potentially overcoming it. (NOTE: I MAY BE REMEMBERING THIS WRONG, PLZ BE A NERD AND CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG!!!! THROW TOMATOES AND CALL ME A LARPER IF IM WRONG!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!)

which means it could be fully possible that folly has a similar power (if not greater) to tgo.

so it’s fully possible that folly’s a god too.

and its very well known that mr is implied to be a fallen god*, so who else would a god work with if not another god???

*it is also very heavily implied that mr is icarus, however icarus was not considered a god. i view his relation to icarus as more of a comparison in general storyline, and for the purpose of more of a connection to greek mythology so that the lore has a deeper meaning behind. i personally infer that mr compares himself to icarus because of disobeying an order that someone had given him which caused him to fall (icarus disobeying his father’s order to not fly too close to the sun, the new loading screen showing that mr was rejected but reason still unconfirmed afaik), but he is not actually icarus. or maybe he’s just a not-very-powerful phony who compares himself to religious figures so people believe him. who knows.

returning to folly. in greek mythology, melinoë is the goddess of nightmares and madness. sound familiar? this also ties into my point of folly being a goddess.

now. as i stated previously about my personal interpretation of mr COMPARING himself to icarus, i believe that folly has a similar hypothetical relation to melinoë. as far as i’m aware, she isn’t seen to mention melinoë in her dialogue. but if we imagine that she did, or maybe even will in the future, she likely would compare herself to this goddess in such a way. this would make it make even more sense for her to be working with mr.

where null fits into all of this god stuff? i have absolutely NO CLUE. so this next part will be guesses. sorry, null fans..get those tomatoes ready..

based on the lore we already have, we know that null is apart of the helperbot species. i don’t remember where this came from, possibly a youtube link, but if i remember correctly, the creator of the helperbots deleted the code because of people “taking advantage of their work.” i think that mr could have found one of these helperbots and introduced it to the idea of individuality and a prime unit. maybe even messing around with the coding of said helperbot, which could be the cause of the creator deleting the code. and that is where null came to be null, and why it is so loyal to mr.

a different theory i have (somewhat connected to the other stuff i mentioned): mr is the god praised, folly is the priest, null is an extremely devoted follower who occasionally takes role of priest. like an understudy in musical theatre.

lalallalalaa will add more to ts later :3 i could genuinely yap about this games lore for hours but i dont have much time so i cant rn. if i decide to expand on this, my next topic will probably be related to the mannequins or the lab that bive was made in

Most of this is one big rant but I need to state my claim

(Major spoilers under cut)

The whole “Bearer of the Eye” thing is just a way to guilt trip its members into staying within the cultish family.

Glevil isolates them, makes them feel alone. It makes them feel like there is no community around them. We can see this visually (and mentally) taking a toll on Samson in the very beginning of the episode.

Once the eye is “relived” from the bearer they are welcomed back into the family with open arms, giving the bearer a reason to still stick with the family. Samson is MUCH happier once he gets to sit down with his peers.

Another reason to keep the bearer within the family is Glevil presents it as an important role.

Saying it represents everyone’s sins and that this person can expel them through the eye, having the bearer feel like an important asset.

It’s a way to manipulate Glevils CULT members into staying loyal to him and The Great One.

Im not the greatest at explaining myself but I hope I do get my point across.
