This is a headcanon, theory, and my dumb umineko/higurashi/JJBA pilled brain talking. Like Rokkenjima, Hinamizawa and Morioh. I like to believe the whole town itself is its own supernatural entity! Why else would there be a whole ass eldritch monster sealed away under the town!?

It was made originally to keep eyes sealed up. Assuming the cult goes back generations the original founder made a deal to get eyes fully out. When Skid and Pump got him out, the only reason he didn't go completely batshit on the fabric of the universe itself is beacuse the town is sealing up most of his power.

It also explains why so many monsters are attracted to the town and why so much supernatural shit happens.

The town itself is alive and it knows what is supposed to be there and what's not.

Of course ... why wouldn't there be someone following her? She did always remember what her father said about demons in Hell - people want their money and their bodies. And knowing Hell being the way it was ... there were no regulations. No rules; at least when it came to the basics of committing crimes like kidnapping and blackmailing.

She stood in place, claws held around both arms with a heavy sigh, knowing what's next. "... okay," she muttered. "Might as well walk into another location that will definitely not get me killed." A pessimistic point of view, but it was all she had in this case.

Though, she had a question come to mind, gently turning her head in their direction, "... how did you know I was being followed?" She asked. "Who's... following me?"
