You know those fics where Regulus isn’t dead and it turns out he’s just undercover or in his animagus form?
I’m not sure if I got this from somewhere else or I just thought of it myself but anytime I even so much as think of them all I can imagine is Sirius falling through the veil, being in the afterlife believing he’ll finally be able to see his little brother again; finally be able to make amends and apologise for everything that happened, I imagine him being so nervous yet excited at the same time only to be told that Regulus had never made it there and Sirius’ heart just drops to his stomach as he’s left to wonder what the fuck happened to his brother and where in the seven shades of shit he was.
And it really sucks cause it’s angsty an all that sadness n shit when I should really be grateful Reggie isn’t dead cause I know damn well the author could have brutally killed him off if they wished.
On a funnier note, I like to think James would conspire with Lily to pull a little welcoming prank and tell Sirius that Regulus was in hell but I know damn well James would back out right before.
