Distracted Daydreams // Gladys & Regulus

Gladys couldn’t ever seem to concentrate whenever Gilderoy was around, and that was quickly becoming a problem as more and more assignments were due, and OWL’s were coming up. She was currently sitting in the library, with Regulus Black, working on a Charms project together, but she was completely distracted. She was staring down at her book, her chin in her hand, but really, she was looking across the library towards Gilderoy. She honestly had even forgotten exactly what they were supposed to be doing right now, she just hoped that Regulus wasn’t paying attention either. This wasn’t usually her--she loved Charms, it was one of her best classes, and if they had been working outside, she probably would have been much better at what they were doing. But that just wasn’t today.

Suddenly Regulus was talking, and while she had been looking at Gilderoy, she realized that she had absolutely no idea what he was even saying. Her cheeks turned slightly pink as she realized what had happened.

“Oh, um...” she tried to think quickly. “Can you repeat that please?” She asked. “I didnt, um, hear you.”

WHO: Pinky Parkinson and Regulus Black WHEN: Thursday, March 2nd, 1978. 9:30AM. Morning Classes. WHERE: Greenhouse #2

For the last month, Pinky absolutely dreaded going to Herbology Class. When classes had returned after the Christmas Holidays, Professor Sprout had rearranged the seating chart (or rather, standing chart, if you will) and Pinky had found herself partnered up with Irina Draganova. She had never felt very at ease when in close proximity to her roommate, and Irina certainly knew it. So, like every other day before, Pinky filed into class with an unhealthy level of apprehension. But, unlike every other day, there was no need. It seemed that once again, the partnership arrangements would be reassigned. Pinky listened with bated breath, hoping it was someone she liked. Preferably Zhenya. Unfortunately, she did not get her wish. However, her partner wasn’t terrible, so she bounded across the room to stand next to him. The relief she felt about no longer having to work with Irina was palatable, so she was perhaps a bit enthusiastic about her greeting.

“Regulus!” She exclaimed with more than a normal amount of pep and cheer. “I’m so happy we get to work together!” She patted him on the arm. “This will be so fun!”

Tucking her reply to Regulus' note on the string of her owl, Icarus' leg, Grace sent him off and she collected her cloak off her bed placing it about her shoulders. She made her way out of the Hufflepuff common room and headed up the stairs. She made her way towards the spot that she had agreed to meet Regulus and leaned against a pillar waiting for him to arrive.
