19/01/2015 - Rehearsal Diary
This rehearsal date we were discussing which songs would fit with the brief of World Radio Day on the 13th of February and our up coming gig in April. The songs have to be mass audience friendly and because this we have chosen less alternative songs that are easy to listen to. We will further discuss the arrangement of these songs in the next rehearsal when all the band members are present
09/02/2015 - Rehearsal Diary
In this rehearsal we changed some of our songs as members of the band were not happy with the original track that we had worked on. We did this so that the band felt more comfortable with our performance. However this was very short notice and gave us a lot of work. It did work out in the end though as we had several other practices lined up. For the next gig I think that we should try and be more prepared and know the songs further in advance for the performance.
02/02/2015 - Rehearsal Diary
Today we were practicing for the next gig in college for World Radio day, we have had a few problems with the songs that we are rehearsing due to some members not learning parts on time. Hopefully for the next rehearsal everyone will know their parts so that we can rehearse as a full band.
15/12/2014 - Rehearsal Diary
Today we rehearsed the new songs that we have decided to perform and organised the set list. I think that this went well as we worked on areas that were weak to make sure that we were performance ready. As a group we chose what order the songs would go in and we also decided to drop two songs as we had not been able to practice fully for too long for us to be confident about our performance. The absences have caused us many problems for these acoustic gigs, however I feel that we have over come the hurdles by choosing songs that we know we can rely on people being able to perform. This shows how we can adapt to different situations as performers. The gig was supposed to be at 18:15 today however due to exams being taken in the college our performance was cancelled. The rehearsals went well and for our next rehearsal tomorrow we will continue to rehearse until our performance time of 12:15.
8/12/2014 - Rehearsal Diary
In this rehearsal session we were mainly concentrating on the songs that we would be performing that evening. This rehearsal went well once we had overcome some band drama. We learnt two new songs and rehearsed songs that we had previously performed to organise a 4 song set. I was performing in all 4 songs and this meant that we had to arrange the order of the set to make it the most efficient with band members leaving the stage while I stayed. I think that the gig went really well considering that we had many set backs leading up to the gig. For the next rehearsal we will be concentrating on the tracks for the next gigs. To improve on these I think that we should work on the ones that we are confident in, however this may affect other band members that have been absent, so we will address this on the day.
9/12/2014 - Rehearsal Diary
In this rehearsal we worked through some of the songs that we will be performing at the acoustic gig. Due to absence and other band issues this rehearsal did not go very well. However 2 band members and myself worked through songs that we could perform together. We decided to over lap the songs so that we could perform in both the Acoustic gig and the full band gig. This meant that we could perform confidently in both shows, it also allowed to make up lost time that we had wasted in waiting for unreliable band members. I think that this shows how we cope well with different situations that may arise during the rehearsal process.
This was the final rehearsal before the day of the full band gig at the Whitby Social Club, I have made sure that we are performance ready with 2 other band members however the remaining 2 did not come to the rehearsal and were difficult to work with. This lead us to change the set list so that we could perform more confidently.
1/12/2014 - Rehearsal Diary
In this rehearsal we were still a few members short and therefore we decided to work on the songs that the two of us could do. This still means that we may be a few songs short for the gigs in two weeks time. For the gig on 8th of December we had tried to organise full band performances, however again due to illness band member weren't in to practice, to combat this the two of us worked on simple acoustic songs that could work for both of the gigs (the acoustic gigs and the Whitby Social Club gig). In the next rehearsal we will have to practice over the songs that we are most confident in to ensure that the performance goes well and try not to waste time on other songs that are not fully finished.
25/11/2014 - Rehearsal Diary
In this rehearsal only two members of our band were present so we had to rearrange the songs to work with two people, this took longer than we had expected and was a real set back in terms of being performance ready for the gigs. Other than this the two of us managed to complete two of our songs for the gig. For the next rehearsal hopefully more of our band members will be in and we should be able to complete another song.
