T’odrahumara Rehn & Dazai Saito

Rehn and Dazai camp around in the Ruby Sea, often engaging in their own misadventures. Rehn’s overwhelming love of the ocean and Dazai’s lust for adventure make quite the pair, and are a perfect match for the expanse of beautiful jade tide between Kugane and Doma. However, the two know that they dance with the devil, as they have to go out of their way to not only avoid pirates, but lingering beast tribes. Rehn argues that the views from the mountain tops are always worth it.

Dazai has yet to fully understand that Rehn is afraid of the dark. Sometimes, without thinking, he’ll blow out her candles as they settle down to bed – only for Rehn, nervous and wringing her hands, to stand up and re-light them. “It’s easier to get around if you wake up,” she’ll offer flatly, but she’s not really willing to talk about it more. Dazai does, indeed, feel like there’s more to it, but Rehn’s too proud to admit it.

Rehn cuts Dazai’s hair. Ever since she first met him and his scrappy mop-top, Rehn has insisted that Dazai allow her to style and cut it for him. He doesn’t like sitting still while she works, but she takes it very seriously – and has no shortage of compliments and kisses for him once all is said and done.

Dazai and Rehn create their own stories behind Rehn’s star charts. In truth, the two only need invest a modicum of effort to understand the scrawlings of constellations before them... But it’s much more enjoyable to create different shapes and animals out of the glowing points, chatting idly about some past, imaginary civilization that looked up and saw the beacons of light above.

When Dazai asked Rehn to marry him, she took two suns to think the offer over. Undoubtedly, apprehension bubbled in Dazai’s chest; she was his ticket to freedom from his family, and it seemed as though her thoughtfulness were to be his downfall. Wasn’t she known for being impulsive? However, one early morning in Kugane -- one of the rare days when Dazai was visiting home -- a Limsan envoy found him with an “urgent message, from the desk of the Ambassador of Arcanima”. True, the letter was officially stamped as from the desk of T’odrahumara Rehn, but... The letter contained but one word: “yes”.
