The "Rei vs Asuka" wars piss me off so bad, and both of them get so much unfair hate from people with no media literacy who didn't understand their characters. Not everything should be about which one is "your favorite waifu" (which ew btw. They're like 14.) or which one should "get to be Shinji's girl". They're both well written, complex and nuanced characters and they both deserve better fans.
