Arthur Morgan is the type of man who would put your boots by the fire on cold mornings so you have something warm to put on.
I cannot stop thinking about a reader who has a massive crush on Matt, their sweet and very blind neighbor.
They start wearing the same perfume everyday, and the same shoes, all in the hopes that they would become recognizable by their sound and scent alone. Elevator rides and "surprise" meetings at the buildings lobby all marked by the same scent, and the same distinct shuffling of nervous feet.
They obviously dont know about Matt's enhanced senses, and that they already stand out to him in an entirely different way. But the notion of his flustered neighbor trying to subtly make themselves consistent, and as a result, more accessible for him drives him crazy.
Julie being Dex's freezer bride ....let me speak.
"Your sweet divine, you devour like smoked bovine hide" dex consumed julie in her entirety, her mannerisms, her routines, the food she ate and the words she spoke. He wanted to be good and sweet and kind, so he stalked her and embodied her, became her. "I never considered myself tough"
"I tried to be good, am I no good? With my memory restricted to a Polaroid in evidence" when Matt led him to her frozen corpse in that freezer, everything he tried to be, everything that was taken from him by Fisk began to crumble. Every good deed and moral idea that Julie gave to him in hopes of helping him find stability was completely abandoned. Her body buckled into a stolen FBI truck later discovered by the last uncorrupted cops in nyc, her legacy completely wiped by dex's actions. She is no longer dex's north star, just some thawing body of a missing girl.
"I never blamed you for loving me the way you did, while you were torn apart" she showed him the greatest amount of mercy that a person could, acceptance and forgiveness for the way dex behaved and acted towards her. She saw how far he had strayed from his place at the call center, and she promised to show him the way back. But Dex's actions untimely led to her death. She was everything to him, and he killed her.
Anyway, sorry if this doesn't make sense.
I love dex so much guys it not even funny
I have never seen my compulsions and fears shown so well by a character before, I know it's unofficial but I like to think he has an OCD diagnosis alongside his BPD. Obviously his treatment in the Netflix series is very unrealistic, but besides that it is a fantastic representation of how i feel living with ocd. He desperately wants to be good and helpful and be accepted but theres the darker side of him that is nurtured by the walking intrusive thought that is Wilson Fisk that pushes him into a dark spiral. I have been there before and to see it in my favorite media was so incredibly helpful to me.
Anyway sorry about my incoherent ramblings, Dex is my fav ily🫶💙
My love for Daredevil's genuine representation of having a sight impairment will never cease
I love u dd comic writers
Just saw a video of a bull rider imitating a bull while his little cousin tried staying on his back and now all I can think about is Rhett Abbott doing that shit.
Like imagine visiting family with Rhett around the holidays or something. Maybe it's a summer party and the family's all gathered around a table outside sharing stories and passing fruit around. Rhett was nervous as all hell to meet your folks and the extended brood but now he's found himself retelling stories from his days at the rodeo to your younger cousins 'n such. He's up n moving around, digging his heels into the grass as he shows them how that nasty bull a few years back nearly bucked him off at the last second, all the while those kids are ooing and aweing at the idea of Rhett taking home the prize.
You're just standing there in the shade watching and he interacts with them so easily. You think, well of course he knows what he's doing, he takes care of Amy all the time. But there's something else there with him, you can see it in the way hes fully tuned into each of their questions. How he carefully and without judgment, explains things to them.
And you certainly see it when he hears your brothers youngest son ask what it feels like to ride a bull. How Rhett gets down on all fours and let's that kid climb onto his back, only to start bucking and spinning around. Hes going easy on him, of course, but the kid can barely hold on and Rhett is being so careful not to hurt him. It warms something deep in your chest and he clambers off in a fit of giggles while the other kids jump at the idea of going next.
Oh my god i want that cowboy so bad :(
Big beefy Dex....oh lord...oh wow....okay....heyyy
