I seem to have missed a few days there, but day 7 of #mayshelfawareness is ‘Underrated Read’ 📚 I never see much about this book anywhere, but ‘The Selected Works of T.S. Spivet’ by Reif Larsen is a book that is, in my opinion, very underrated. My one guideline to this #guerrillaart #project is that the #books I abandon need to feel #magical when strangers discover them. I came across this #favorite #book, "The selected works of T.S. Spivet", being sold yesterday at my local library and I knew I had to share this wonder with the world. I even lugged this heavy #hardback to Nyc because I was so excited to post this hehe. 12 year old genius cartographer TS Spivet received a phone call that he won a prestigious award from the Smithsonian. He decides to hop a train by himself to Washington DC. Here you will find his beautiful, mesmerizing drawings and musings. It was so fascinating to learn from and with him. I never read a book quite like this, with wondrous #marginalia and schematics. I enjoyed his #story very much and it's going to be a lot of fun #rereading it again. I rarely dip into a book twice but this is a worthwhile exception. Now the even sweeter part is finding a companion book or literary magazine to abandon with it. Plus brainstorm what kind of written work I'll pair with them. Though I have plenty of time. I have two more pairs of books before I start on this one. I can't believe I found this for $4!!! What a score. If any friends want to borrow this, I have the paperback and can even lend you this one if you prefer it.
