Funny that ONE said the Reigen is like an older brother figure and the fandom decided to give him the dad title instead.
Cause he doesn't feel like a brother to him at all. :P He's a young adult entering his 30s while Mob's a kid in middle school. To me, who actually has an older brother by 8yrs, and a nephew nearing Mob's age too, Reigen behaves nothing remotely brotherly to him - his vibes veer more towards an uncle or brand new (surrogate) dad who's struggling how to properly adult. :P His involved adult responsibilities as Mob's guardian and supportive care towards nurturing his mental health & wellbeing run far more paternal (or maternal, if you go by his own manga gags) than brotherly.
The more appropriate older brother figure would go to Garou(18) for how he treats Tareo(10) in opm instead. [While he's ironically called 'uncle' (oji-san) for gags.] Calling him 'turd' (shitty brat/kuso-gaki) yet stopping at nothing to protect Tareo from harm as his hero. As someone who can't help caring and looking out for him - and saving him from bullies, in his tsundere way. And that's more like it.
