AURORA . cordelia’s steed was the most temperamental one of the herd when she and the other knights were deemed worthy of choosing a pegasus. rather than being gifted their mounts, it was tradition of the order to tame a pegasus from one of ylisse’s many herds in the countryside. and since she wasn’t wooed by the docile nature of the other members of the herd, the wild beauty of aurora caught her eye immediately. the feeling was mutual. for her taming of the pegasus, she was both admired and envied, ridiculed and loved. 

their relationship is one of like-minded individuals, built on respect of each other’s talents and abilities. aurora is the fastest, and nimblest pegasus in the ylissean pegasus knights, and cordelia is the most gifted rider.

CHROM . once upon a time, chrom saved cordelia when she’d pushed herself too hard. from that day onward, she vowed to serve him in all capacities, just like the legendary retainer of the first exalt. cordelia only has ever admired him from afar, but lately that relationship has seemed to change as she’d allowed herself to speak with him more. this is far healthier for cordelia than just allowing herself to love and be silent. in this, I am, of course, referring to my main chrom.

HERSELF . she takes care of her personal hygiene and appearance, as is necessary for someone representing the ylissean pegasus knights, however, that is it. there are times when cordelia skips meals in order to attend to the duties she’s assigned to herself, or has forgone sleeping so that she could continue working into the night. when not doing rounds, she is training relentlessly. 

so it could be said that she loves herself, in the sense that she wants to improve and is aware of the amazing skills that she does have, but also hates herself because she always believes that she is never enough and doesn’t take proper care of herself. she never thinks herself to be enough for chrom either, though those feelings are slowly changing, she still knows / believes that she is not as great as the legendary pegasus knight that served the first exalt.

She buys him a coffee, casually hands it to him with a ghost of a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. "Just a little thank you for all your hard work. A well-deserved treat, I believe."

Why is it that such kindness still takes Akechi aback? That his shoulders still tense, and he has to regain his calm? - perhaps it’s that somewhere inside, he still remembers his original intentions. That he still remembers who he had almost been, and feels that this isn’t something he deserves. Friends, like family.  “A- Ah... thank you,” he answers, quite delayed, and takes the mug into his hands. Finger coil around the ceramic, appreciating its warmth. 

“It’s no problem, really... we’re in this together, aren’t we?” The detective turns his head, staring down at the coffee, and the steam coming off in wisps. “I appreciate this gesture, but you needn’t thank me!”
