@reignofolympus plotted a starter from HADES!
If Zeus almost damaging his office door was not evidence enough, there was an air about Olympus that also hinted at a change. The usual bustle continued, but there was a subdued nature to it. Not just because of his own presence. Mortals feared him most, but some deathless creatures were apprehensive. Perhaps because he was not usually present here, save for the rarest, important meetings. His dark, plum suit stood out amongst the lighter and more colourful garbs. Many eyes watched him with varying degrees of subtly as he walked through the common agora through to the royal districts. If he were to come here, why not see how the place has changed since...
How long had it been? He couldn’t quite remember.
The closer he got to their designated meeting place of neutrality, the Lower King’s stomach began to knot further. His mind prickled with the instinct to turn his back and return below. To evade all of this emotion and fear. Because he was scared, he knew the difficult conversations ahead, the inevitable swallowing of his pride.
Seeing Zeus ahead, Hades paused. He saw the way they sat, the way they were holding themselves. He saw not a distant royal, but more of his sibling. A few faded memories of their ancient closeness fluttered in his head and Hades closed his eyes a moment. His own shoulders began to sag, just ever so slightly, his reserved persona faltering, even as his neutral downturned expression remained. Dark eyes opening, Hades moved truly into the garden space and sat down on a bench beside him. A distance remained, a sign of his own apprehension even with the progress of actually agreeing to this.
“A better place this is, rather than barging into my office.” It was said though with no malice or annoyance, just a fact. Though it was very on point for their family though, the dramatic entrance. Very Zeus.
