How To Do Foot Lock From Sitting Open Guard
Step 1: 00:44 First thing you want to do is break the grip that is controlling your sleeve. Then you turn your toe out on the foot that is behind your leg. Now you pop the foot that is on your hips upward.
Step 2: 01:05 The foot that you popped up from your thigh, you want to make sure that you wrap your form arm around it to begin securing the leg lock. Place your free hand on the ground to support your body as you step over her head to bring your foot to her hip.
Step 3 01:35 Here I show a different angel on How To Do Foot Lock From Sitting Open Guard so you can understand a little bit better. Its very important to remember to keep your hips low and heavy on your opponent after to removed the foot from your thigh and turned your toe away from your opponent.
Step 4: 3:15 I would like to let you know in which martial arts that this type of foot lock is accepted. The cool thing about it, is that it is legal in most of the grappling art if you are careful with your foot placement. Judo, doesn’t allow ANY foot locks unfortunately so that one is out of the question. But for Sambo, Mixed Martial Arts, Submission Grappling you are good to go. In Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or BJJ as some call it, you have to be really careful as to not step over the all the way across the belly or you WILL get DQ.
