Georgia looked around her house. It was still a bit of a blank slate, but filling it out would come with time. Almost every furnishing was new. She’d left most of the furniture in the house in Nevada, so when Mal got out the place hadn;t been stripped clean. She’d only taken things that were personal to her. There was a box of photos under her bed, her jewelry box on her vanity that held things she rarely wore including her wedding ring, her entire closet had come with her and also in the closet, in a box tucked away were her daughter’s ashes. No way in hell she would have left those behind, but they certainly weren’t on display. Everything was clean, mostly because it was unused, but she didn’t mind it. It reminded her of a high end hotel. The house wasn’t her usual style, she preferred something new without any ghosts or stories in it’s walls. Still, the house had been completely redone and it would do. After all she didn’t plan on staying here forever.
Walking to the kitchen, she pulled a two wine glasses out of the cabinet and opened a bottle of red. There was white in the fridge in case Reina wanted any of that, plus a stocked bar in the dining room in case they really got into it. Georgia wasn’t sure she had any ‘friends’, and the only person she ever really missed was Mal and that was only sometimes. Still, Reina was one of the few people she had a history with that she hadn’t buried and didn’t want to. It had been a while since she’d seen the woman who’d once been queen of Nevada, but coming here meant that call had to be made. When she heard a knock at the door, she stalked over in her socks. Far less sophisticated than she let most people see her, but since it was paired with jeans and a sweater that probably cost more than most of the cars in town, she wasn’t too self-conscious. Opening the door, a true smile crept onto her face. “Hey, come on in.” she said, stepping aside and gesturing for the woman to come in. As soon as she’d stepped inside, Georgia shut the door and headed towards the kitchen, walking backwards as she did. “Do you want red, white or something stronger?” she asked. “ ‘cause I got it all here. Except for the whores. Left those back home.”
