           she’s clearly not happy with something;  it probably had nothing to do with him,  as all he’s done it put in his order and drink and do work on his laptop.  still,  when she swings back around and does an extreme forced smile,  he gives her a real one back.  “  look,  “  because he had also seen jo do this very,  very early on where they first met in the cafe,  “  i’m going to tip you.  you don’t have to force yourself if you’re feeling bad.  “

          she doesn’t like to sit and think about it,  but sometimes it hard not too.  she’s made friends,  relationships,  across time  --  but even in the when she was born,  she didn’t feel like she belonged there.  anywhere.  sometimes it weighed heavier then she liked it to.
